Conn. department to change response to child abuse

HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — The Connecticut Department of Children and Families is changing the way it investigates reports of child neglect and abuse by creating separate responses for low and high-risk incidents.

Beginning Monday, DCF will perform a family assessment in response to all reports that are deemed low and medium risks. The assessment will help families reach out for community resources.

Low-risk cases include things like families improperly clothing children in the winter, whereas high-risk incidents include reports of physical and sexual abuse. The department will continue to respond to high-risk incidents with an investigation.

Currently, all reports of abuse are investigated by DCF, regardless of the risk level.

The change comes under a department initiative, not through state legislation.

On MARCH 5, 1770, a crowd protested and in the confusion British soldiers fired, killing five, one of whom was Crispus Attucks, the most famous African American who participated in the Revolution.

Paul Revere's popular engraving of the Boston Massacre fanned flames of anti-British sentiment.

Joseph Warren, President of the Massachusetts Congress, who sent Paul Revere on his midnight ride, said on the 2nd anniversary of the Massacre, 1772:

For all of you who have appreciated www.ssristories.com I would encourage you to post a quick thank you note for Rosie Meysenberg, our Texas director for the International Coalition for Drug Awareness.

Since the mid 90's Rosie & I have worked together in gathering cases involving SSRI antidepressants. Those early stories formed the beginning of www.ssristories.com. She & her husband, Gene, put together the SSRIstories website, an incredible searchable database of these cases & then Rosie began to add more and more cases as the search engines became more and more available to us on the internet for news articles. Finally reaching a total of almost 5000 cases. Two major medical articles have already been written with this database as the catalyst.

Now Rosie is battling cancer & for the last two weeks Hospice has been there assisting she & her husband with her care. She is asking for our prayers. Please join us in praying for her. Behind a wall of secrecy, the family courts routinely turn all the familiar principles of justice upside down.

There was outrage last week over government plans to extend the degree to which our courts can operate in secret. David Davis, former shadow home secretary, claimed that such “a regime of secret courts and hidden judgments”, where defendants could not even be “told the evidence against them”, were worthy only of “despotic one-party states such as Syria, Iran and North Korea”. A letter from 57 of the 69 lawyers already familiar with such practices, from their work on terrorist cases, protested that extending this system would “represent a departure from the foundational principles of natural justice that all parties are allowed to see and challenge all the evidence relied on before the court”.

However shocking this may sound, though, it is already the system which operates in our family courts. Behind a wall of secrecy, they routinely turn all the familiar principles of justice upside down in just this way. Among the dozens of cases I have reported where children are removed from their parents, often for what appear the most absurd reasons, I have been astonished to hear how judges accept extraordinary claims by social workers and lawyers without allowing the parents to challenge them. Hearsay evidence is accepted in a way that would never be allowed in a normal court, and parents are condemned on evidence they are not allowed to see.

The state Supreme Court for the first time recognized that children have "at least the same due process right to counsel as do indigent parents." But that due process will be decided on a case-by-case basis.

Should a child be granted the right to an attorney when his parents are accused of abuse or neglect?

Most states say the answer is yes, but in Washington dependency courts, it's been a matter of debate for years. Everyone agrees a lot is at stake: Children can lose not only their parents and their home, but also be separated from their siblings, their aunts and uncles, their school, their friends. They could bounce from one stranger's home to another in foster care.

The state Supreme Court took a big step toward answering that question in a 9-0 decision Thursday. Foster children "have vital liberty interests at stake and may constitutionally be entitled to counsel," Justice Tom Chambers wrote for the court.

Advocates believe the ruling will alter the landscape of dependency court, leading judges to appoint attorneys for more and more of the thousands of children entering the system. FULL STORY

On MARCH 3, 1931, Congress adopted "The Star-Spangled Banner" as the National Anthem, written by Francis Scott Key during the War of 1812:

The fourth verse states:

"O thus be it ever when free men shall stand,
Between their loved home and the war's desolation;
Blest with victory and peace, may the Heaven-rescued land,
Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation!
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just;
And this be our motto 'IN GOD IS OUR TRUST'!
And the Star Spangled Banner in triumph shall wave
Over the land of the free and the home of the brave!"

This 4th verse inspired Congress to place the motto on the nation's coins, MARCH 3, 1865, as House Speaker Schuyler Colfax noted:

"The last act of Congress ever signed by President Lincoln was one requiring that the motto...'IN GOD WE TRUST' should hereafter be inscribed upon all our national coin."

The motto, "IN GOD WE TRUST," is inscribed above the Speaker's rostrum in the U.S. House Chamber; above the Senate's main southern door; on a tribute block inside the Washington Monument; on a bronze plaque in the main lobby east wall of the Longworth House Office Building; at the southwest entrance west wall of Dirksen Office Building; and on a stained-glass window in the U.S. Capitol's Chapel.

President Truman stated October 30, 1949:

"When the U.S. was established...the motto was 'IN GOD WE TRUST.' That is still our motto and we still place our firm trust in God."

President Eisenhower stated at a ceremony issuing the first stamp bearing the motto "IN GOD WE TRUST," April 8, 1954:

"America's greatness has been based upon a spiritual quality...symbolized by the stamp that will be issued today...The letter, on the outside he places a message: 'Here is...the land that lives in respect for the Almighty's mercy to us.'...Each of us...fastening such a stamp on a letter, cannot fail to feel something of the inspiration that we do whenever we...read 'IN GOD WE TRUST.'"

The same day, President Eisenhower told a Women's Conference:

"I have just come from assisting in the dedication of a new stamp...on it also is stated 'IN GOD WE TRUST'...All of us mere mortals are dependent upon the mercy of a Superior Being...Every single individual who buys the stamp...sends a message...that this is the land of the free and 'IN GOD WE TRUST.'"

President Eisenhower stated at the 75th Anniversary of the Incandescent Lamp, October 24, 1954:

"Atheism substitutes men for the Supreme Creator and this leads inevitably to domination and dictatorship...It is because we believe that God intends all men to be free and equal that we demand free government. Our Government is servant, not master, our chosen representatives are our equals, not our czars or commissars.

We must jealously guard our foundation in faith. For on it rests the ability of the American individual to live and thrive in this blessed land-and to be able to help other less fortunate people to achieve freedom and individual opportunity. These we take for granted, but to others they are often only a wistful dream.

'IN GOD WE TRUST.' Often have we heard the words of this wonderful American motto. Let us make sure that familiarity has not made them meaningless for us. We carry the torch of freedom as a sacred trust for all mankind. We do not believe that God intended the light that He created to be put out by men."

On July 11, 1954, a month after the phrase "under God" was added to the Pledge of Allegiance, Congress enacted Public Law 84-140 placing the motto on all national currency.

In 1956, "IN GOD WE TRUST," was adopted by Congress as the official United States National Motto. John F. Kennedy stated February 9, 1961:

"The guiding principle of this Nation has been, is now, and ever shall be 'IN GOD WE TRUST.'"

President Ronald Reagan stated in his National Day of Prayer Proclamation, March 19, 1981:

"Our Nation's motto 'IN GOD WE TRUST'--was not chosen lightly. It reflects a basic recognition that there is a divine authority in the universe to which this Nation owes homage."

Reagan stated at a White House observance of National Day of Prayer, May 6, 1982:

"Our faith in God is a mighty source of strength. Our Pledge of Allegiance states that we are 'one nation under God,' and our currency bears the motto, 'IN GOD WE TRUST.'"

Reagan remarked after meeting Pope John Paul II in Vatican City, June 7, 1982:

"Ours is a nation grounded on faith, faith in man's ability through God-given freedom to live in tolerance and peace and faith that a Supreme Being guides our daily striving in this world. Our national motto, 'IN GOD WE TRUST,' reflects that faith."

President George H.W. Bush met with Amish and Mennonite Leaders at Penn Johns Elementary School in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, March 22, 1989. When a Mennonite Leader stated:

"We want to keep that theme, 'IN GOD WE TRUST,' which is stamped on our money,"

President Bush replied:

"It's staying there. Nobody can knock that off."

President George H.W. Bush remarked on the National Day of Prayer, May 4, 1989:

"We are one nation under God. And we were placed here on Earth to do His work. And our work has gone on now for more than 200 years in the Nation--a work best embodied in four simple words: 'IN GOD WE TRUST.'"

In a 2003 joint poll by USA Today, CNN, and Gallup reported that 90% of Americans support "IN GOD WE TRUST" on U.S. coins.

In 2006, on the 50th anniversary of its adoption, the Senate reaffirmed "IN GOD WE TRUST" as the official national motto.

In July 2010, a Federal Appeals Court in the District of Columbia ruled 3-0 the National Motto was constitutional under the First Amendment, quoting the 1970 decision, Aronow v. United States:

"It is quite obvious that the national motto and slogan on coinage and currency 'IN GOD WE TRUST' has nothing whatsoever to do with the establishment of religion."

On March 7, 2011, the Supreme Court denied a challenge by an atheist who was intolerant of the National Motto, by letting the decision of the Federal Appeals Court stand.

On November 1, 2011, the House of Representatives passed an additional resolution in a 396-9 vote reaffirming "IN GOD WE TRUST" as the official motto of the United States.

Top prescribers under Senate's microscope

In 2010, U.S. Senator Grassley asked each state in the country to provide him with a list of the top prescribers of these psych drugs: Abilify, Geodon, Risperdal, Seroquel, Zyprexa (antipsychotic drugs) and Xanax (an addictive anxiety drug). He also asked for the top prescribers of a few addictive painkillers. Now, the Senator is asking each state to tell him what happened with these high prescribers.

The Alamo mission at San Antonio was in its 7th day of being assaulted by thousands of Santa Anna's troops.

By the 13th day, Santa Anna's "take-no-prisoner" policy had all the defenders, numbering between 182-257, killed, including Jim Bowie and former U.S. Congressman Davy Crockett, and the few that surrendered were executed.

The only Texas army left in the field was Col. James Fannin's.

It departed Goliad to rescue the Alamo but was surrounded in open ground and captured.

Santa Anna ordered all 350 prisoners executed.

When the Mexican officer hesitated obeying the execution order, Santa Anna sent another officer who carried it out.

Had Fannin's troops been left in prison, Texas would have been disheartened, but instead, Santa Anna's cruelty aroused world outrage.

The Texas Declaration of Independence, signed MARCH 2, 1836, stated:

"General Antonio Lopez Santa Anna...demanded us to deliver up our arms, which are essential to our defense-the rightful property of freemen-and formidable only to tyrannical governments...

“Federal health officials [ ] added new safety alerts to the prescribing information for statins, the cholesterol-reducing medications that are among the most widely prescribed drugs in the world, citing rare risks of memoryloss,diabetes and musclepain.

It is the first time that the Food and Drug Administration has officially linked statin use with cognitive problems like forgetfulness and confusion, although some patients have reported such problems for years. Among the drugs affected are huge sellers like Lipitor, Zocor, Crestor and Vytorin. But federal officials and some medical experts said the new alerts should not scare people away from statins. “The value of statins in preventing heart disease has been clearly established,” said Dr. Amy G. Egan, deputy director for safety in the F.D.A.’s division of metabolism and endocrinology products. “Their benefit is indisputable, but they need to be taken with care and knowledge of their side effects.”

Diabetes patients and even those who develop diabetes while taking statins should continue taking the medicines, said Dr. Steven Nissen, chairman of cardiovascular medicine at the Cleveland Clinic who has studied the medicines extensively. “These are not major issues, and they really do not alter the decision-making process with regard to statins,” Dr. Nissen said. Last year, nearly 21 million patients in the United States were prescribed statins.”

A clearly articulated, historically informed, riveting new book by Dr. David Healy, PHARMAGEDDON, published by the University of California Press, provides an insightful analysis of the culture in medicine that has led prominent medical authorities to make unsupportable, contradictory public pronouncements about the presumed clinical value of patent-protected prescription drugs. Contrary to industry propaganda, in company-controlled clinical trials, statins failed to demonstrate a clinical benefit—except for those with established cardiovascular disease. Indeed, there is no evidence that any blockbuster drug saved lives or demonstrated a significant clinical benefit—these drugs merely exhibited an effect on a rating scale greater than a placebo. By contrast these drugs’ severe adverse effects are demonstrated by patients’ deteriorating health and premature deaths.

To be sure there have been other critiques about the commercialization of American medicine and undisclosed conflicts of interest that raise serious doubts about the integrity of medicine. But Dr. Healy probes deeper, bringing into sharp focus how industry has masterfully exploited regulations aimed at reining in its deceptive marketing practices, including withholding safety data, failure to demonstrate drug effectiveness, and its price fixing schemes. He identifies three regulatory changes that were enacted under the leadership of Sen. Kefauver in 1962: patent protection changes for branded pharmaceutical products; restricted prescription drug privileges for doctors only; and a requirement for industry-controlled clinical trials that are designed to demonstrate a benefit over placebo.

He shows how these regulatory changes were seized by the pharmaceutical industry to gain control of medical research and ultimately, control over medical practice. Ironically, rather than rein in industry’s deceptive practices, these regulations, as well as the mantra calling for evidence-based medicine in the form of controlled clinical trials, which industry subverted by taking ownership of medical “science.” It then proceeded to derail medicine from its life-saving mission toward increasing consumption of drugs for chronic conditions whose side effects undermine overall health, more often than not, resulting in additional drug prescriptions.

Dr. Healy disputes the validity of the claim that clinical trials are the essential bedrock for “science-based” medical practice, noting that when a treatment is unambiguously therapeutic—e.g., antibiotics—we don’t need a controlled trial to prove its clinical effectiveness. Placebo-controlled clinical trials are pharmaceutical companies’ essential tool for marketing ineffective drugs whose serious risks of harm are not obvious. The “gold standard” in medical research is embodied in company-controlled trials that are designed to demonstrate merely a “statistical significance” of a benefit over a placebo—without having to demonstrate clear evidence of a clinically significant benefit. What’s more, company-controlled trials are not designed to identify severe though not obvious adverse effects. FDA’s approval standard for marketing a prescription drug as “safe and effective” is based entirely on this lopsided, commercially profitable “gold standard”—even when “statistical significance” was demonstrated in only two out of 100 clinical trials—and even though more people died testing the new drug than did those on placebo. Those inconvenient deaths in the trials were dismissed as irrelevant, not having met the arbitrary “statistical significance” standard.

Dr. Healy makes the case that privatization has led to corruption of medical research at its core. He cites evidence documenting that 30% of clinical trials remain unreported while almost all of the 50% that are reported, were ghostwritten, and 25% of published trials misrepresent the evidence. With assistance by its acquiescent “partners” in academia and government, operating through subterfuge, deception, creation of marketing myths and diseases, industry’s marketing claims that masquerade as science-based medicine have corrupted much of the scientific foundation underlying medical practice—including standardized clinical practice guidelines that often become mandatory. These treatment guidelines formulated by consensus panels that were financed by industry, and relied on industry’s corrupt clinical trial reports. Such formularies and guidelines—on the order of medical “Manual for Dummies”—are based on reductionist measurements and rating scales. Such reductionism dehumanizes people while denigrating the physician’s professional judgment: the “learned intermediary’s” role is thereby reduced to that of an assembly line worker in a manufacturing plant—i.e., a cog in industry’s wheel of fortune.

The unintended but real consequences of the Kefauver reforms, he argues, have turned medical and scientific precepts inside out, and have subverted medicine from its traditional focus on the health needs of the individual patient and a thoughtful assessment of that patient’s best interest. This, he asserts, has led to a profound cultural change within the medical community, a change that has undermined patients’ best care:
“Good medical care once firmly embraced the idea that every remedy was a potential poison that inevitably produced side-effects—the trick lay in knowing how and to whom to administer this poison in order to bring about a benefit that warranted these side effects…In the era of evidence-based medicine, the marketing barrage of the pharmaceutical companies and the promise of statistical significance have led doctors into a world in which they regard treatments more as fertilizers or vitamins that can only do good if applied widely. As a profession, medicine is thereby losing any sense of the treatment as poison, and controlled trials, which began as a method to protect patients from the biases of doctors, have become instead, a method to enhance business in great part because drug companies have managed to hook doctors to the crack pipe of statistical significance.” [p. 77]

In this scenario Dr. Healy may have a point in suggesting that doctors hooked on industry’s propaganda are not best suited to make prescribing decisions for poisons they do not recognize. It can also be argued that if prescription drugs are “safe and effective” why do we need doctors to serve as gatekeepers?

The turning point, he suggests, occurred in the 1980s, when the first blockbuster drugs—Zantac for ulcers, followed by Prozac for depression—were inordinately successfully marketed despite poor performance in clinical trials. They were catapulted to blockbusters by aggressive false marketing claims about their benefits while their potentially lethal hazards were concealed for decades. Physicians, he writes, have been hypnotized by corrupted scientific reports. The medical model no longer focuses on saving lives, nor even on finding cures for disease. Under industry’s influence, medical practice is focused on chronic disease management, by monitoring check lists for mood disorders, rating scales and screening tests for cholesterol levels, blood-sugar levels, bone-density scans. These tests are used to justify prescribing ever more drugs for multiple conditions—many of which were triggered by the prescribed drugs. Doctors are in denial—even when patients in front of their eyes are suffering from treatment-induced acute distress.

Since American medicine came under industry’s influence, America’s ranking on healthcare matters among developed countries fell from #1 in the 1960s to #72 in 2000.

As the NYT report (above) underscores, even as FDA’s analysis of statins confirms evidence of serious cognitive risks—which can become debilitating—and risks of diabetes—which are life-shortening—doctors are strongly advised to continue prescribing the drugs widely. With sales of $35 billion annually, statins are ingested mostly by people who do not have cardiovascular disease. They are prescribed for those for whom the drugs offer no benefit. Statins are prescribed as risk management drugs for people whose cholesterol level is arbitrarily designated “at risk” on a rating scale. Other harm-producing blockbusters include: Cox-2 inhibitors for arthritic pain; blood-sugar lowering drugs for diabetes; beta agonists for asthma; antidepressants and antipsychotics for mental anguish. Even as these drugs’ ill effects are evident in the physical or mental condition of patients, doctors continue to prescribe the drugs, having been blinded by Industry-subverted “evidence-based medicine” and assured that the ill effect is “anecdotal.” Dr. Healy cites evidence showing that 80% of such observed “anecdotes” turned out to be correct. The number of deaths or serious adverse events reported to the FDA is increasing by 5% to 10% annually—a disproportionate share attributed to blockbuster drugs of questionable clinical benefit.

In the most poignant section of the book, grief-stricken mothers of children killed by prescription drugs speak out. The adverse effects of the drugs were concealed from them and from the doctors who prescribed them. Yet, these mothers stand alone as they confront the Goliaths—FDA gatekeepers at public hearings—and companies in court depositions. The mothers are not supported by doctors who should be outraged at systemic deception about the risks and indemonstrable benefits of drugs that led them to prescribe poison without judiciously assessing possible lethal consequences. He likens these mothers to Demeter of Greek mythology who forcefully shamed Zeus to take action and bring back her abducted daughter. But today’s immoral medical arbiters have no shame.

Dr. Healy’s tone in PHARMAGEDDON is an anguished recognition about the destructive uses to which medicine has aligned itself to; about the complicity of professional gatekeepers who have watched in silence as the science underlying medical practice since the 1980’s has been irredeemably corrupted; about physicians entrusted with prescription privileges who betray patients’ trust by administering poisons without regard for the risks of harm. The book is intended for a wide educated audience. It is a compelling resource for anyone who suspects that medicines pose serious risks, and that doctors are not all that knowledgeable about the hazards of all the drugs they prescribe. We need raise questions in order to protect ourselves from medically unjustifiable, potentially harmful, usually costly treatments. Instead of following Pharma’s directive, “ask your doctor if this pill is right for you…” we might do better to ask the doctor to show us the basis for his recommendation.

A federal district court judge in Washington D.C. has ruled that the federal governments proposed requirements for graphic warning labels on cigarette packages violate the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. Judge Richard Leon determined that the warning label requirement was designed only to "disgust the consumer" in order to prevent them from purchasing a legal product and, as such, was not narrowly tailored to meet a compelling government interest.

Why bother struggling to prove obvious facts?

Every court (state or federal) provides a method for getting around the necessity of proving obvious facts.

This method is called "Judicial Notice". The process is covered completely in my affordable step-by-step 24-hour Jurisdictionary self-help course, but I'll tell you a little bit in this Tips & Tactics!

The process is simple.

You should always use it when you can!

You can make opponents' legal bullets bounce off your chest once the court takes judicial notice of an obvious fact, because the court's order settles the issue ... PERIOD!

Obvious facts don't have to be "proven", if you can get the court to enter an order taking judicial notice of them.

You can move the court to enter an order taking judicial notice in writing or you can move the court by voice in the courtrooom.

Vocal motions are called ore tenus motions.

Written motions are always best (because they become part of the written record of the case without paying a court reporter to provide a transcript) but if you're caught at a hearing and need to do so, make an ore tenus motion (i.e., a spoken motion) and be prepared to back it up by showing that the fact you want noticed is "obvious".

If was nearly 25 years ago when I was just beginning my career as a licensed attorney. My client was suing her former landlord to recover her security deposit. The mean old landlord claimed she damaged his property by cutting down a tree in the backyard.

The tree was a Brazilian Pepper tree, a nuisance plant here in Florida. The tree is related to poison ivy, poison oak, poison sumac. It's really more of a bush than a tree, though they grow quite large here in the Sunshine State. The University of Florida reports some people express respiratory problems associated with the bloom period of the tree, while others suffer from dermatitis after contact.

The State of Florida has even developed a detailed management plan for the pest plant, including creation of a Brazilian Pepper Task Force!

So, here I was arguing for my client at a hearing to get her deposit back from her stupid, greedy landlord looking to make a fast buck by playing on the ignorance of others.

Of course I had a court reporter with me, taking down every word said by me, my client, the landlord, and the judge. That's why I won more often than others. Making a record is essential to victory (even though it does cost a bit to pay the court reporter to attend).

My client and I came to the hearing with photographs of the inside of the house she'd been renting to show how she had re-painted, cleaned the oven, scrubbed the floors, and left the place immaculate. That's what we thought the landlord's defense was: that she'd left the place a mess. When I saw her photographs (and the fact that her friend had taken the pictures, a friend we brought with us to testify to the accuracy of the pictures, if necessary) it seemed obvious to me we would win hands down.

Then the landlord starts whining about his lovely tree in the backyard and how my client had so rudely and without his permission cut it to the ground and dragged the branches out to the street for the city trash collectors to take them away.

By some stroke of God's Grace I'd recently read of the Brazilian Pepper and health problems it was causing, so I simply said, "Your honor, I move the court for an order taking judicial notice that the Brazilian Pepper has been adjudged a nuisance plant in Florida and therefore has no commercial value to justify the landlord's witholding my client's security deposit."

What happened next was wonderful. The judge smiled, evidently pleased at the opportunity I presented for him to tell us what he knew of this pesky bush. He leaned back in his giant leather-backed chair and actually put his hands behind his head as if he were going to tell a long story to his grandchildren. And, what a story it was. He went on for at least 10 minutes about the problems he and his family had and the concern officials have with the invasion of this plant from Argentina where it was seen as an attractive ornamental. He talked about rashes on his own hands received from whacking away at the menace in his own backyard.

Then, suddenly, he leaned forward in his chair, turned toward the landlord with a menacing leer and pronounced, "Motion granted. Judgment for the plaintiff."

So, my client got her deposit money, and I learned a valuable lesson you would do well to learn for yourself.

If a fact is commonly known, you can move the court to enter an order taking judicial notice of the fact - and then you need not struggle to prove the fact. It is a fact for all purposes throughout the remainder of the case!

Of course, like all other motions, the best way to make them is to write them on paper, file the original with the clerk, serve a copy on the opposing party, prepare a proposed order granting your motion, and set a hearing to argue your motion and get your proposed order signed.

What was the government in the United States before the U.S. Constitution was written?

It was the Articles of Confederation, ratified by the States MARCH 1, 1781.

Signed by such statesmen as John Hancock and Samuel Adams, it was an attempt to loosely knit the thirteen States together, leaving most of the authority under State Constitutions.

The Articles of Confederation declared:

"Whereas the delegates of the United States of America in Congress assembled did on the fifteenth day of November in the Year of Our Lord 1777, and in the second year of the independence of America agree on certain Articles of Confederation and perpetual union between the States...

The said states hereby severally enter into a firm league of friendship with each other, for their common defense, the security of their liberties, and their mutual and general welfare, binding themselves to assist each other, against all force...or attacks made upon them...on account of religion, sovereignty, trade, or any other pretense."

The Articles end with the line:

"It has pleased the Great Governor of the World to incline the hearts of the Legislatures we respectively represent in Congress, to approve of and to authorize us to ratify the said Articles of Confederation."

The original State Constitutions acknowledged religion, as cited in the book, The Original 13-A Documentary History of Religion in America's First Thirteen States:

1776, CONSTITUTION OF VIRGINIA, BILL OF RIGHTS, SECTION 16: "That religion, or the duty which we owe to our Creator, and the manner of discharging it, can be directed only by reason and conviction, not by force or violence; and therefore all men are equally entitled to the free exercise of religion, according to the dictates of conscience; and that it is the mutual duty of all to practice Christian forbearance, love, and charity towards each other."

1776, CONSTITUTION OF DELAWARE, ARTICLE 22. Every person who shall be chosen a member of either house...before taking his seat...shall...make and subscribe the following declaration, to wit: "I, A B. do profess faith in God the Father, and in Jesus Christ His only Son, and in the Holy Ghost, one God, blessed for evermore; and I do acknowledge the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testament to be given by Divine inspiration." ARTICLE 29. There shall be no establishment of any religious sect in this State in preference to another... DECLARATION OF RIGHTS OF DELAWARE, ARTICLE 2. That all Men have a natural and unalienable Right to worship Almighty God according to the Dictates of their own Consciences... ARTICLE 3. That all Persons professing the Christian Religion ought forever to enjoy equal Rights and Privileges in this State.

1776, CONSTITUTION OF PENNSYLVANIA: Whereas all government ought to...enable the individuals who compose it to enjoy their natural rights, and the other blessings which the Author of Existence has bestowed upon man... A DECLARATION OF THE RIGHTS 2. That all men have a natural and unalienable right to worship Almighty God according to the dictates of their own consciences...Nor can any man, who acknowledges the being of a God, be justly deprived or abridged of any civil right... FRAME OF GOVERNMENT, SECTION 10. And each member, before he takes his seat, shall make and subscribe the following declaration, viz: I do believe in one God, the Creator and Governor of the Universe, the Rewarder of the good and the Punisher of the wicked. And I do acknowledge the Scriptures of the Old and New Testament to be given by Divine Inspiration. And no further or other religious test shall ever hereafter be required... SECTION 45. Laws for the encouragement of virtue, and prevention of vice and immorality, shall be made and constantly kept in force...And all religious societies or bodies of men heretofore united or incorporated for the advancement of religion or learning, or for other pious and charitable purposes, shall be encouraged.

1776, CONSTITUTION OF NEW JERSEY, ARTICLE 18: That no person shall ever...be deprived of the inestimable privilege of worshipping Almighty God in a manner agreeable to the dictates of his own conscience... ARTICLE 19...No Protestant inhabitant of this Colony shall be denied the enjoyment of any civil right...but that all persons, professing a belief in the faith of any Protestant sect, who shall demean themselves peaceably under the government, as hereby established, shall be capable of being elected into any office of profit or trust, or being a member of either branch of the Legislature, and shall fully and freely enjoy every privilege and immunity, enjoyed by others their fellow subjects.

1776, CONNECTICUT CONSTITUTION (continuing its 1662 COLONIAL CHARTER) PREAMBLE. The People of this State being by the Providence of God...derived a free and excellent Constitution of Government...for the preservation of their civil and religious rights and Liberties. And forasmuch as the free Fruition of such Liberties and Privileges as Humanity, Civility and Christianity call for...will be the Tranquillity and Stability of Churches and Commonwealths; and the Denial thereof, the Disturbance, if not the Ruin of both.

1776, CONSTITUTION OF MARYLAND, ARTICLE 33: That, as it is the duty of every man to worship God in such manner as he thinks most acceptable to him; all persons, professing the Christian religion, are equally entitled to protection in their religious liberty...yet the Legislature may, in their discretion, lay a general and equal tax for the support of the Christian religion; leaving to each individual the power of appointing the payment...to the support of...his own denomination... ARTICLE 35. That no other test or qualification ought to be required, on admission to any office of trust or profit, than such oath of support and fidelity to this State...and a declaration of a belief in the Christian religion. ARTICLE 55. That every person, appointed to any office...shall...take the following oath; to wit: "I, A. B., do swear, that I do not hold myself bound in allegiance to the King of Great Britain, and that I will be faithful, and bear true allegiance to the State of Maryland;" and shall also subscribe a declaration of his belief in the Christian religion.

1776, CONSTITUTION OF NORTH CAROLINA, DECLARATION OF RIGHTS, ARTICLE 19. That all men have a natural and unalienable right to worship Almighty God according to the dictates of their own consciences. FORM OF GOVERNMENT, ARTICLE 32. That no person, who shall deny the being of God or the truth of the Protestant religion, or the Divine authority either of the Old or New Testaments, or who shall hold religious principles incompatible with the freedom and safety of the State, shall be capable of holding any office... ARTICLE 34. That there shall be no establishment of any one religious Church or denomination in this State, in preference to any other.

1777, CONSTITUTION OF VERMONT: Whereas, all government ought...to enable the individuals...to enjoy their natural rights, and the other blessings which the Author of Existence has bestowed upon man... CHAPTER 1, A DECLARATION OF RIGHTS: 3. That all men have a natural and unalienable right to worship ALMIGHTY GOD, according to the dictates of their own consciences and understanding, regulated by the word of GOD...Nor can any man who professes the Protestant religion, be justly deprived or abridged of any civil right...nevertheless, every sect or denomination of people ought to observe the Sabbath, or the Lord's Day, and keep up, and support, some sort of religious worship, which to them shall seem most agreeable to the revealed Will of GOD... CHAPTER 2, PLAN OR FRAME OF GOVERNMENT, SECTION 9: And each member, before he takes his seat, shall make and subscribe the following declaration, viz. "I ____ do believe in one God, the Creator and Governor of the Universe, the Rewarder of the good and Punisher of the wicked. And I do acknowledge the Scriptures of the Old and New Testament to be given by Divine inspiration, and own and profess the Protestant religion." And no further or other religious test shall ever, hereafter, be required of any civil officer or magistrate in this State.

1777, CONSTITUTION OF GEORGIA, ARTICLE 6: The representatives shall be chosen out of the residents in each county...and they shall be of the Protestant religion... ARTICLE 14. Every person entitled to vote shall take the following oath..."I, A B. do voluntarily and solemnly swear (or affirm, as the case may be) that I do owe true allegiance to this State, and will support the constitution thereof; So Help Me God."

1777, CONSTITUTION OF NEW YORK: Whereas the Delegates of the United American States...solemnly publish and declare, in the words following; viz: "...Laws of nature and of nature's God entitle them...We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal; that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights; that among these are, life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness...appealing to the Supreme Judge of the world for the rectitude of our intentions...with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence..." 7...Every person who now is a freeman...on or before the fourteenth day of October, in the Year of Our Lord one thousand seven hundred and seventy-five...shall be entitled to vote... 38. 1778, CONSTITUTION OF SOUTH CAROLINA, PREAMBLE. We, the people of the State of South Carolina...grateful to God for our liberties, do ordain and establish this Constitution... ARTICLE 3...Senate and House of Representatives... shall...choose...a governor and commander-in-chief, a lieutenant-governor...and a privy council, all of the Protestant religion... ARTICLE 12. No person shall be eligible to a seat in the said Senate unless he be of the Protestant religion... 13...No person shall be eligible to sit in the House of Representatives unless he be of the Protestant religion... 38. That all persons and religious societies who acknowledge that there is one God, and a future state of rewards and punishments, and that God is publicly to be worshipped, shall be freely tolerated. The Christian Protestant religion shall be deemed, and is hereby constituted and declared to be, the established religion of this State. That it is lawful and the duty of every man being thereunto called by those that govern, to bear witness to the truth...No person shall officiate as minister of any established Church...until the minister...shall have made and subscribed to the following declaration, over and above the aforesaid five articles, viz: That he is determined by God's grace out of the Holy Scriptures, to instruct the people committed to his charge, and to teach nothing as required of necessity to eternal salvation but that which he shall be persuaded may be concluded and proved from the Scripture; That he will use both public and private admonitions, as well to the sick as to the whole within his cure, as need shall require and occasion shall be given, and that he will be diligent in prayers, and in reading of the same; That he will be diligent to frame and fashion his own self and his family according to the doctrine of Christ, and to make both himself and them, as much as in him lieth, wholesome examples and patterns to the flock of Christ.

1780, CONSTITUTION OF MASSACHUSETTS: "We, therefore, the people of Massachusetts, acknowledging, with grateful hearts, the goodness of the Great Legislator of the Universe, in affording us, in the course of His Providence, an opportunity, deliberately and peaceably...of forming a new constitution of civil government... PART THE FIRST-A DECLARATION OF RIGHTS, ARTICLE 2. "It is the right as well as the duty of all men in society, publicly, and at stated seasons to worship the Supreme Being, the great Creator and Preserver of the Universe... B., do declare, that I believe the Christian religion, and have a firm persuasion of its truth."

1784, NEW HAMPSHIRE CONSTITUTION, PART 1, ARTICLE 6: "As morality and piety, rightly grounded on evangelical principles will give the best and greatest security to government...the people of this state...empower the legislature to...make adequate provision...for the support and maintenance of public Protestant teachers of piety, religion and morality...And every denomination of Christians demeaning themselves quietly, and as good subjects of the state, shall be equally under the protection of the law... PART 2-THE FORM OF GOVERNMENT, SENATE: That no person shall be capable of being elected a senator who is not of the Protestant religion... This is big news for many Natural News readers and writers. But this conclusion had the prescription-pad psychiatrists and FDA crying foul, loudly. Why? Kirsch's conclusion was featured in a national CBS 60 Minutes television report.

I am pleased to present to you three leading models for family therapy. These three models, developed by Mary Fristad, Ph.D., David Miklowitz, Ph.D., and Mani Pavuluri, M.D., PhD are among the very few Evidence Based Treatments for families raising children with bipolar disorder.

What is Evidence Based Treatment and why is it important? Evidence Based Treatment encourages clinicians to consider empirical evidence (research) and clinical expertise when implementing treatment. It's important because it has a greater chance of success. Early and effective treatment reduces the likelihood that your child will need repeated therapeutic interventions. (Think of the old adage, "Do it right the first time"). While you may not have access to one of these researchers and their treatment programs, you can print the following article and discuss it with your family therapist.

Family therapy is an important component of your child's treatment regime. Family therapy does NOT mean that you are a bad parent or a dysfunctional family. On the contrary, it means that you are a good parent who is trying to address a very difficult illness. Mood disorders have a profound effect on the entire family. Gone are the days when we whispered about seeking therapy. Family therapy is as important to a child with a mood disorder as consultations from a dietician are to the parents of a diabetic child.

It takes a long time for Evidence Based Treatments to move from receiving accolades in top science journals to being put into practice by your local clinician. It has been a very long time - far too long - since we have sent out newsletters from our Drugawareness site. I am starting them back up again & want to update you on all that is happening. Over the past two weeks I have had three experiences that have made me realize that no matter how overwhelmed I have been over the past couple of years, I MUST find the energy and means by which I can step up the pace of educating the world about antidepressants because I know what is happening in my life is happening in everyone else's lives as well because antidepressants are EVERYWHERE!!

Besides the school shooting that just happened in Ohio with every earmark of yet another antidepressant induced school shooting, last night a friend called to let me know that her cousin was the teen boy who walked in front of a train in my old neighborhood last week. The grandmother of this boy has now lost two of her grandchildren in a violent suicide induced by antidepressants!!! The first was a teen girl who shot herself about a decade ago. And her son was sent to prison because of false accusations of abuse made by someone on these meds. THAT IS ONE FAMILY!!!!!

Then last week a good friend I have known for 20 years & who has helped set me up for lectures and radio shows to spread the word about antidepressants called to let me know that his 32 year old niece on antidepressants had just committed suicide leaving her husband and three children behind.

Then two weeks ago a friend I have had for 30 years called to let me know that her daughter had given her son-in-law ONE pill of Zoloft after which he made several serious suicide attempts & was now in a psych ward.

Now if I am being hit with this many tragedies this close to me in my life when I know what I know about these drugs, how bad is has it become in everyone else's lives????!!!!!

So we are gearing up the website to offer more & more info.

I also just learned Leslie Demeniuk's antidepressant-induced nightmare is going to be on the Bio Channel Friday evening at 8:00 PM Eastern Time. http://www.biography.com/tv/weekly-schedule It is a program called Women Behind Bars. Leslie shot her twin 4 year old boys while in a psychosis produced from going from Zoloft to Paxil. Her fiance, Anthony Ortiz, was one of our Drugawareness group who came to Houston from Florida for the press conference we had on the courthouse steps during Andrea Yate's second case. So that you have some background as you watch this program: Leslie was suffering the hypoglycemic reaction that comes from the use of antidepressants coupled with the stronger impact upon blood sugar brought on by the shock to the body of abrupt changes in dose of an antidepressant. This reaction brings on overwhelming cravings for either alcohol or sweets or both. She was therefore drunk also at the time of the shooting. This alcohol craving was the first reaction to Prozac that caught my attention & caused me to begin researching the SSRI antidepressants. I was shocked to see those who had never touched alcohol in their lives become alcoholic almost overnight on these antidepressants!

Of course the cases never end. Just last week a pharmacist in Tampa, FL drowned her baby while on antidepressants. We have just had another school shooting which I am sure involved the drugs & not far from there a young father shot & killed his wife & three children. In Utah last night I learned a friend's teen cousin walked in front of a train in my old neighborhood to commit suicide after several months on antidepressants. Amazing that as hard as you try & as much evidence as there is when there is so much $$$$$ being made the truth just does not make it out - unless we do it ourselves to save those we love!!!

Feb. 29 - Julius Caesar's Leap Day, and Columbus' Eclipse

FEBRUARY 29th is Leap Day.

It was invented in 45 B.C. when Julius Caesar replaced the many calendars used throughout the Roman Empire based on the moon's cycles with one unified calendar based on the sun, having 365 days and a "leap" day every 4th year.

This was called the Julian Calendar.

Caesar also moved the beginning of the year from March 1st to January 1st.

After three centuries and ten major persecutions, the Roman Empire became Christian, and the most important day in the Christian church calendar is Christ's resurrection, or as it is also called, Easter.

In 325 AD, the First Council of Nicaea wanted to keep Easter as close as possible to the Jewish Feast of Passover, yet still have it on a Sunday, so they set Easter as the FIRST SUNDAY after the FULL MOON following the SPRING EQUINOX ("equinox" or "equal night" is one day in the Spring and one day Fall when the amount of daylight is equal to the amount of night.)

In 567 AD, the Council of Tours moved the beginning of the year in most of Europe back to March 1st, as January 1st was associated with pagan Rome.

By the Middle Ages, the Julian Calendar date of Easter had slipped too early in the year, so Pope Gregory XIII, in 1582, adjusted the calendar slightly to omit leap days in years divisible by 100 but not divisible by 400.

This is called the Gregorian Calendar.

Pope Gregory also moved the beginning of the year back to January 1st.

Protestant Europe did not adopt the Catholic Gregorian Calendar for nearly two centuries.

This gave rise to some interesting record keeping.

For example:

a ship would leave Protestant England on one date according to the Julian Calendar and arrive in Catholic Europe at an earlier date, according to the Gregorian Calendar;

or April 23, 1616 was the day William Shakespeare died in England and Miguel de Cervantes, author of Don Quixote-Man of La Mancha, died in Spain, but when the differences between England's Julian and Spain's Gregorian Calendars are removed, Cervantes actually died ten days before Shakespeare.

England and its colonies waited till 1752 to adopt the Gregorian Calendar, but by that time there was an 11 day discrepancy.

When America finally adjusted its calendar and the day after September 2, 1752, became September 14, 1752, there were reports of riots.

Another interesting event occurred on this day during Christopher Columbus' last voyage.

Driven by storms around the Caribbean Sea, two of Columbus' ships were abandoned and the remaining two were worm-eaten and sinking.

Columbus was shipwrecked on Jamaica.

Indians brought food for a while, but then threatened to become hostile.

Columbus, using his skill as a navigator, predicted a lunar eclipse on FEBRUARY 29, 1504.

He called the Indian Chiefs to his marooned ship and told them if they did not stay on good terms, he would pray that God would blot out the moon.

When the eclipse began, the Indians shrieked and quickly made peace with Columbus.

Columbus later wrote:

"My hope in the One who created us all sustains me: He is an ever-present help in trouble."

On Feb. 27, 2012, a teenager—reportedly a victim of bullying and something of a social outcast—walked into a Cleveland high school and opened fire in the cafeteria, killing two students and wounding three others. The teenager, identified as T.J. Lane, has been taken into police custody. Now media pundits are speculating on who or what is to blame for this latest spate of violence.

Yet we’ve been caught in the grip of a cycle of school violence that started almost 20 years ago.

A few weeks back Kate Dulit asked me for a title for these few remarks, and, on an impulse, I pinched the title from an essay by the naturalist Wendell Barry — the question “What Are People For?” I think I was drawn to the question because I wanted to try stepping back, to take a long view of the challenges faced by the people sitting in this room – advocates, clinicians, agency staff and others – and to applaud the incredibly hard, incredibly important work you do. As I tried to assemble what I was going to say, I began to fear that the title struck too grandiose a pose for my fifteen minutes of modest observations. It seems to me that, while there may be some debate about many other justifications for human existence, one vital and obvious task we all bear, that we share with all living things, is to protect, nurture, and cherish the next generation – our own offspring as well as others’ children – and to give them the best start we can in their lives. By doing this we help to insure the continuation of our own species, and we give those who will succeed us the tools to build on what we’ve created, and, one selfishly hopes, the generosity to nurture us as we decline.

You have heard the warning by now: under the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC, or Convention), the right of parents to direct the education of their children will disappear.

You may also have heard the many assurances from internationalists and special interest groups that it’s not going to happen, that the CRC actually enshrines parental rights and will respect the important role that parents play.

The proof, as they say, is in the pudding – and certain recipes cooked up of late taste very sour indeed.

First there is the Romeike family, who were forced to flee Germany and seek U.S. asylum in 2008 as the only means to keep their children out of the state-run schools. Perhaps you will recognize Germany’s education law – it was passed in the 1930’s under Adolf Hitler, who is famously quoted as saying, “He who controls the youth controls the future.”

Then there is the case of Dominic Johansson of Sweden, who was taken from his parents in June, 2009, because they had chosen to home school him until their upcoming move to his mother’s native India. Authorities actually came and removed him from the plane as the family was set to leave the country. Since that time, the country has outlawed home schooling, claiming that under the CRC children are guaranteed the right to a standard education. Meanwhile, Dominic’s parents are still fighting for his return.

Now comes the most recent strike, a Canadian Supreme Court decision that upheld the state-mandated Ethics and Religious Culture course being forced on students in Quebec schools since 2008. According to the ruling last week, parents cannot opt their children out even if they disapprove of the “morality” views being foisted on their child without first meeting a high burden of proof that the schooling will impede their own religious instruction at home. Again, it is argued that under the CRC every student has a right to “a specific” education. So no matter what faith a parent holds, the government gets to decide certain beliefs that every child is taught!

The UN’s Child Rights Committee put it this way: “[A]rticle 29(1) [of the CRC] underlines the individual and subjective right to a specific quality of education.” And while neither home schooling nor private schooling is explicitly outlawed by the Convention, neither are they exempted from government control. Says the Committee, “This [right] includes not only the content of the curriculum but also the educational processes, the pedagogical methods and the environment within which education takes place, whether it be the home, school, or elsewhere. Children do not lose their human rights by virtue of passing through the school gates.” (General Comment No. 1 (2001), emphasis added)

What It Means for America

Fortunately, we are not there yet. We are still the country to which people apply for asylum, not the nation from which they flee for freedom. But changes at the federal level are already leaning away from the liberty of the past. Only the preservation of fundamental parental rights at the state level is keeping us from looking a lot more like these nations than we do.

The proposed Parental Rights Amendment would establish in the federal Constitution the same legal protection for parental rights that is already recognized in the state law of nearly every state in the nation. In so doing, it will protect our freedom to direct the education of our children and halt the ever-expanding grasp of the federal edu-cratic elites who want to impose their worldview on every child in America.

Action Items

Too many American parents still are not aware of this erosion in the federal courts, or of the threat to parental rights that is held in the United Nations’ CRC. Please take a moment to forward this email to everyone you know so that they, too, can sign the petition to support the Parental Rights Amendment.

Then, contact your Senators and urge them to support SR99, the resolution that opposes ratification of the CRC in America. We are still just 2 senators away from our goal of 40 cosponsors on that measure.

His brother-in-law, Elias Boudinot, served a term as President of the Continental Congress, signed the Treaty of Paris, and founded the American Bible Society.

His son, Richard, was a U.S. Senator from New Jersey.

Sure, we have problems.

BIG PROBLEMS.

It's impossible not see how our American Way of Life is threatened with New Speak, New Thought, and the threat of a New World Order.

Traditional American values of self-reliance, hard work, honesty in business, and genuine patriotism that works to promote liberty by working for justice are still the only protection we have for ourselves and our children.

Individual rights will continue to disappear ... if we do nothing.

That is, ONLY IF WE DO NOTHING.

You don't need more paranoid warnings or insane legal theories that don't work!

You need to learn how to FIX what's wrong.

You need to learn how to FORCE your leaders to do what's right.

You need to learn how to RESTORE the American Dream for yourself, your children, and future generations.

Complaining about a fox in the henhouse doesn't do a thing for the poor defenseless chickens. Yet, day-after-day I receive dozens of emails from well-meaning people who think pointing their fingers at the problems and urging their friends to recognize the problems will somehow magically make the problems go away.

My in-box is flooded every day (and more of late) by folks I call pseudo patriots who insist the end is near. They may be well-meaning, and the points they make are often valid, but they aren't offering any practical solutions!.

'Tain't so!

If you want the fox out of the henhouse, and voting at the polling booth now-and-then doesn't seem to be making much of a change for the better, then it's time to get your pen and start putting ink on paper!

Ooops! Did you expect me to suggest violence? Not a chance. That's not what America is all about. We are a people (or, at least, we once were) dedicated to order, due process, and a peaceful resolution to our difficulties.

That means ink on paper!

Complaining gets us nowhere, unless we complain with a "Complaint" filed at the local courthouse - 'cause that does wonders when it's done properly.

If you don't believe me, look at the world around you and see for yourself how much of what we have today (good and bad) resulted from the decisions of courts.

The pseudo patriots have only bad news and wacky ideas about how to fix our problems ... ideas that are putting quite a few people behind bars, I might add.

I have good news!

We live in an age of opportunity such as the world has never seen before. When I entered the practice of law nearly a quarter-century ago, we didn't have computers to do on-line legal research. If we had a legal problem, there was only one solution: hire a lawyer. And, if you are like I was 30 years ago, you don't have tens of thousands of dollars to pay some lawyer who may end up dropping the ball or screwing your life up because of his or her stupid incompetence, laziness, or fear of the judge. Back then, it was either pay through the nose ... or lose!

That was before Jurisdictionary.

Our very way of life is on trial. If "We the People" do not learn how to put ink on paper and take advantage of the power of our courts, we may soon be looking back at the "good old days" and wishing we'd done what we could while there was time to do it right.

Meanwhile, instead of encouraging you to learn the rules of court and how to use them to Restore the Republic the "right way" (abiding by the principles of our democratic republic) the pseudo patriots are leading many of you down a path to certain destruction. They are so busy finding fault while teaching their idiotic ideas about how greedy people can escape justice by claiming nonsense defenses, that good people like you are confused about where to turn for the "right way" to get justice.

We are a nation of laws!

True patriots work with wisdom to control corrupt judges and legislators to change bad laws, instead of trying to find novel ways to get around the law for their own advantage.

True patriots seek justice according to the rules!

Today's pseudo patriots have lost their way. Don't let them turn you from the "right way" with their proclamations of doom or confuse you into trying to win in court by saying you are not WHO YOU ARE if your name is in all capital letters, or any of the similar nonsense they sell.

We can turn this nation around if we work together!

We can force judges to follow the rules. We can turn crooked lawyers out-on-their-ear! We can overcome even the most powerful opponent the "right way", peaceably, according to law and order - instead of being "outlaws" trying to wiggle out of our troubles with stupid tricks.

If it weren't so easy to learn the official rules there'd be no hope for us. But, it IS EASY to learn the rules and how to use them to force people in powerful positions to do what's right!

The pseudo patriots are so obsessed with the admittedly serious problems we face at this hour they do not see that the solution is already in our own hands: The Law!

We can put the law to work the "right way", using the "official rules" that overcome corrupt judges and defeat crooked lawyers and make justice possible for anyone of average intelligence willing to make an effort to learn how the legal game is played to win!

We must all stop staring at the darkness and lift the lamp of liberty and justice while there is yet time!

Pseudo patriots find fault with America and her system of law and order, but that's all they do.

The only answer pseudo patriots offer is to "spread the word", as if telling everyone what's wrong will magically make things right once again!

It is madness!
They say they are "patriots", but they don't tell you how to save your nation. They're too busy telling you what's wrong, who's at fault, and how ugly things will be when their terrible predictions come true.

Their message is all negative!

And, when they do offer their theories about what it takes to get justice, their theories are nothing short of lunacy!

These lines are from the poem, Paul Revere's Ride, by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, born FEBRUARY 27, 1807.

His grandfather had been a Revolutionary War general and his uncle, after whom he was named, was Navy hero Henry Wadsworth, who was killed fighting Muslim Barbary Pirates at the Battle of Tripoli, 1804.

An American poet and Harvard Professor, Longfellow wrote such classics as: The Song of Hiawatha; The Courtship of Miles Standish, which sold 10,000 copies in London in a single day; and Evangeline, in which he penned:

"Man is unjust, but God is just; and finally justice triumphs."
