Montana HB 455, to allow non-attorney representation before agencies

Subject: HB 455, Amend MAPA to allow non-attorney representation before agencies
Date: Tue, 08 Feb 2011 15:25:58 -0700
From: Jerry O'Neil <oneil@centurytel.net>

My House Bill 455, to Amend MAPA to allow non-attorney representation before agencies will be heard next week before the House Judiciary Committee. The purpose of this bill is to put in the Montana Codes the allowance for one when appearing before an administrative law judge to be represented by "counsel, friend, relative, or any other spokesperson." This would conform our statutes with the Code of Federal Regulations, the Administrative Rules of Montana and our laws pertaining to Temporary Assistance to Needy Families [TANF].
