The official portrait of former Gov. Neil Goldschmidt has been removed from the Capitol.

The portrait had been on display in a less public location since 2004 news disclosures that Goldschmidt had had sex with a girl, then 14, while he was mayor of Portland in the 1970s.

The Legislature's presiding officers announced jointly Monday that the portrait will be stored by the Oregon Historical Society. The portrait was painted by Robert Bibler in 1992 and hung outside the Senate chamber in 1993. It was moved to the fourth-floor legislative library in mid-2004.

The leaders said in a statement that the timing was dictated by the death of the woman last month. The Statesman Journal does not identify the victims of such crimes.

Goldschmidt could not be prosecuted because of the statute of limitations. FULL STORY

I guess there are some things Democrats do that steps over every line of tolerance.
