Bear in mind, this information is for Louisiana where spanking has not been elevated to near capital crime status. Of course, the first advice they give is the famous (and utterly useless) "Time Out".  Many states have total bans on spanking.   States at the other end of the spectrum (like Oregon, the Soviet Union of the West) doesn't like Time Outs or ANY punishment whatsoever.
