Getting Ready: Exciting News from Town Halls Last Wednesday we spotted an article out of Hope, Arkansas, about how Congressman Mike Ross addressed the Parental Rights Amendment. One of you asked his position on the matter at a local town hall meeting, and the article carried his answer: “I support it in concept.”
This is a promising opening from which further discussion can ensue.
Similarly, another key volunteer went to a town hall where she was able to contact not one but two congressmen. One had already pledged support and the other was a cosponsor last year, so it may not be surprising - but it is significant - that both agreed: as soon as the Amendment is introduced in this Congress, these leaders will be behind it. Then that same volunteer spoke to an upcoming Senate candidate and gave him a copy of “The Child.”
Not all of us can go to a town hall, and not all of us are good at making this kind of contact. Those who are need to be doing just that – your efforts will reap great dividends. And those who are not no doubt have other skills you can apply to the effort that will also produce exciting results.
That is what our upcoming summer campaign is all about. There will be roles for everyone to play, and we need each one of you to plug in where you fit best. Together, we will secure the Parental Rights Amendment to the U.S. Constitution!
