LK finds more bills molding in the slime in DC

After we discovered H.R. 2790, Legally Kidnapped apparently started wondering WHAT ELSE might be currently going on related to "Child Welfare" in the slimy moldy walls of Congress.

Here's a good search LK came up with-

http://blog.lib.umn.edu/cascw/policy/2011/08/general-child-welfare-related.html

Several of those bills are real turd burners.  A lot of bills introduced by Kongress Kritters just sit there and rot, and I suspect they are only there so they can claim he introduced "several bills" so he can pretend to be important to the suckers who might vote for him.

S. 175 looks pretty stinky. Then I see Commisarka Barbara Boxer sponsored it and it hasn't moved since January.  So it's a dead turkey as it ought to be.  So is her S. 185. Ron Wyden's S. 596 likewise probably going nowhere.

S. 1509: A bill to provide incentives for States to improve the well-being of children in the child welfare system through systemic reforms and innovations, increased collaboration between State agencies, and incorporation of higher standards of accountability. Sponsor: Sen. Ron Wyden [D-OR] Aug 2, 2011 Definitely going nowhere.

H.R. 222: Infant Protection and Baby Switching Prevention Act of 2011.  A real bureaucratic nightmare.  And then I see it was sponsored by the possibly insane Rep. Sheila Jackson-Lee [D-TX18], it isn't going anywhere.

H.R. 1602: Children's Budget Act amends title 31 of the United States Code to require that Federal children's programs be separately displayed and analyzed in the President's budget. Sponsor: Rep. Danny Davis [D-IL7].  Since Dims have no concept of budget, this one is pretty comical.

H.R. 2730: Strengthening the Child Welfare Response to Human Trafficking Act of 2011amends part E of title IV of the Social Security Act to better enable State child welfare agencies to prevent human trafficking of children and serve the needs of children who are victims of human trafficking, and for other purposes.
Sponsor: Rep. Karen Bass [D-CA33] Aug 1, 2011.  Might go somewhere if there's a dollar for the system to steal along the way.

I can virtually guarantee Parental Consent Act of 2011 (H.R. 2769) isn't going anywhere-

"To prohibit the use of Federal funds for any universal or mandatory mental health screening program. Would require that an educational agency not use parent's refusal to consent as basis of a charge of child abuse or neglect on penalty of discontinuation of federal education funds (until agency proves it no longer uses refusal as basis of abuse/neglect". SPONSORED BY OUR FRIEND RON PAUL

Maybe we SHOULD support it for jollies.
