Video: Parental Rights in 3.5 Minutes
As Phase Two of our Summer of 76 campaign gets underway, here are a few things you need to know:

1. The newest trailer for Overruled: Government Invasion of Your Parental Rights is available at ParentalRightsVideo.org (re-directs to YouTube). The movie is due out in October, but this trailer also serves as a stand-alone video argument for the Parental Rights Amendment (PRA) so you can promote parental rights in 3.5 minutes. Watch it. Share it. Post it (Facebook!). Tweet it. Pass it on. And show it to your congressman or senator as well.

2. Our lobbying webinar featuring Will Estrada and Mike Farris is now available online. Our friends at HSLDA recorded the webinar, and there is no charge to view it. Want to know how to speak with your congressman or what to say? This webinar will answer both questions.

3. The Amendment will not be introduced until September. Efforts to introduce it right before recess got lost in the debt ceiling battle, but rather than wait we are going to just dive into Phase Two – engaging Congress – without a bill number. This does not change any significant plans, and we expect to end up at the same point by Sept. 17 that we would have reached without this development.

4. This introduction delay means you can’t take a copy of the bill with you when you meet with your congressman. Instead, take along a copy of the wording (I’d suggest HJR 42 from the last Congress) and tell them Rep. Trent Franks (R-AZ-2) will be introducing this exact wording very shortly after Congress reconvenes in September.

5. This also means it is not too late for your congressman to sign on as an original cosponsor. So urge him or her to contact Rep. Trent Franks’ office right away (or immediately upon return to DC) about becoming an original cosponsor.

6. Be sure to let them know the call blitz is coming Sept. 6-16. This part of our plan has not changed in the slightest. Those congressmen who sign on with Mr. Franks will be spared the many calls PRA supporters will generate next month.

As we launch Phase Two we are halfway through our Summer of 76 campaign, and this is where it gets exciting! Climb aboard, roll up your sleeves, and join us in impacting our nation for generations to come!

Sincerely,
