NCFA Releases Adoption Advocate No. 46: A Deeper Conversation on Information Sharing in Adoption: Compromise Offers Promise and Keeps Promises
This
issue of access to original birth and adoption records is an
understandably emotional one for many involved, and has too often led to
contentious debate. In the April issue of the Adoption Advocate,
"A Deeper Conversation on Information Sharing in Adoption: Compromise
Offers Promise and Keeps Promises," NCFA's Assistant Policy Director
Megan Lindsey reiterates NCFA's support of openness in adoption to the
extent that all parties are willing, and explores ways in which state
legislators and the adoption community can best honor the wishes of
those seeking information and/or contact while also maintaining the
right to confidentiality for those who desire it.
The Adoption Advocate
is a monthly publication created by NCFA to educate policymakers,
families, child welfare specialists, and other interested parties on
today's most relevant child welfare and adoption issues.
