Urgent CRPD Message from Michael Farris:
Wednesday
morning we received word that proponents of the Convention on the Rights
of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) are pushing for a September vote in
the Senate. As I explained in an earlier email,
this treaty is bad news for American sovereignty and bad news for
families. We must stop it from coming to a vote in September.Preserve American Sovereignty on Constitution Day! So I urge you to visit the local offices of your U.S. Senators on Monday, September 17 – the anniversary of the adoption of the U.S. Constitution. Some allied organizations are coordinating group visits, and I would encourage you to take advantage of those if you can. But whether you go with a group or invest 5 crucial minutes on your own, an in-person visit is by far the single greatest impact you can have. It far out-weighs emails or even a phone call! Our goal is to have at least a dozen constituents visit each senator. So if you plan to participate, please let us know by sending an email to senatevisits@parentalrights.org.
Who Do I Need to Visit?
The 15 senators listed here are already committed to stand with us and do not require your visit, though you might drop by long enough to say, “Thank you.”The office locations of targeted senators are listed here. If your senator’s office is not listed, you can find it through their website, which you can find by clicking on your state at parentalrights.org/states. Either way, I cannot urge you strongly enough: please visit your Senators on September 17!
What Do I Say?
Here are a few talking points you might share when you visit:
I realize that in some states a visit to your senators’ offices means a serious investment of time and travel. But your senators realize this, too – which is why your visit can be so very important. Please join us in standing up for America and for your rights this Constitution Day. Sincerely, Michael Farris President |
