More Candidates Support Parental Rights
Last week we
asked you to help us bring parental rights to the attention of
candidates across the country. Since then, we have added dozens of phone
numbers and email addresses to help you contact those running for
office near you – thanks to those of you who sent that information to
us.We have also added 24 candidates to our list of supporters. You got their attention and they returned our pledge to support the PRA in the coming Congress. Right now we are especially excited about South Carolina 3, where both Republican incumbent Jeff Duncan (a current cosponsor of HJRes.110) and his Democratic challenger Brian Doyle (who has signed a pledge) support our Amendment. We would love to see this kind of “win-win” for parental rights all over the country! To that end, I invite you to check on your candidates again and urge them to pledge their support for the Parental Rights Amendment. Simply (1) visit parentalrights.org/States, (2) click on your state, then (3) click on “2012 Candidates” under the state map image on the left. If a candidate’s name is in green, he or she is already a supporter. If they are not, their name is in black and we have provided whatever contact information we have. Please call or email them and ask them to support our efforts. Remember, while they are running for election, every one of them is your candidate – so don’t limit your contact only to the party or parties you would normally consider! Tell them that parental rights are important to you, and that if they want your vote they need to commit to support the Parental Rights Amendment.
"Celebrate" United Nations Day with Constitutional Literacy
Next
Wednesday, October 24, is United Nations Day. Given our concerns with
the dangers of the UN’s Convention on the Rights of the Child and the
Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, it should come as
no surprise that we aren’t really big on celebrating that organization.
We want to celebrate the U.S. Constitution instead. And what better way to celebrate the Constitution than to offer Michael Farris’s DVD series Constitutional Literacy at the lowest suggested donation level yet? The deal will be so good – Constitutional Literacy free with your donation of $50 or more – that we can only offer it for one day. So we wanted to give you notice so you can plan now to take advantage of the offer. Thank you as always for standing with us to promote the Parental Rights Amendment! Sincerely, Michael Ramey Director of Communications & Research P.S. - So far nearly 1 in every 6 candidates nationwide have supported the Parental Rights Amendment either by pledge or as a cosponsor in Congress. That's almost 200 of the 1,200 seeking office. With your help we can grow that number even more. Please call or email candidates in your district today! |
