Gear Up Now to Make a Difference in 2014
From Hartford, Connecticut, to Sacramento, California,
parents’ rights have come under unrelenting attack in 2013. And with
only 2 weeks left in the year, there is not a lot of time left to put
ourselves in the best position to make 2014 any different. But with your
help, that is exactly what we plan to do.
Here is a list of actions – big and small – that you can take to
usher in 2014 with the greatest potential for parental rights successes:
1. Register a showing of Overruled
in your home or other venue. Whether through an elaborate public
offering or a private gathering of a few friends at home, please spread
the word by sharing this important docudrama in your community.
2. Volunteer to help your state’s efforts to pass a parental rights statute.
Efforts are already underway in more than a dozen states, but those
leading the charge can use your help! To sign up, complete our online volunteer form.

3. Volunteer to help your state chapter launch its website.
At our State Leaders Training Conference in November, this was a very
popular idea, and now a number of states are building their own parental
rights web presence. (See Washington’s new page here.) If you know your way around web hosting and coding, they can use your help! Please complete the online volunteer form to get involved.
|
4. Feature ParentalRights.org on your blog or website.
Set aside a day in the next three weeks (by January 5) and dedicate
your post for that day to preserving parental rights by spreading the
word about the threats and our Amendment. (When you post, please send
the link to Michael@parentalrights.org so we can feature the best posts on our Facebook page!)
|
5. Update your petition link.
If you are a blogger or web developer with a link to our petition on
your page, please be advised that we have a new url and that the old one
will not work in 2014. The new url (where one can sign the petition) is https://secure.parentalrights.org/survey.jsp?surveyId=1.
I know this is a special and busy time of year. Please take just an
hour or two over the next few weeks to devote to parental rights.
Working together, we can make 2014 the biggest year yet for protecting
children by preserving your parental rights!
Sincerely,
Michael Ramey
