April is Child Abuse Paranoia Month

It seems that one of the favorite stories the news media likes to promote is the Child Abuse thing.  And it seems there's always a news story somewhere about some upstanding wealthy citizen being appointed to the local CASA or Citizen Review Board.

In addition to the normal year-around hypnotizing brainwashing PR about "abused children", there's the annual "April is Child Abuse Prevention Month"and newspapers everywhere feel obligated to produce several stories about it.  And more often than not, it's about reporting mere suspicions and the obligation of "mandated reporters".

One of the "facts" that are cited is how many REPORTS the local CPS agency receives, which means there is a supposed HUGE problem.

None of these writers seem to have enough sense to realize 85% of all reported cases are discarded as UNFOUNDED.

Which creates a Vicious Circle- More reports= More unfounded allegations.

I am not one to miss opportunities to EDUCATE people about CPS, so I look at these moronic articles as an INVITATION to post comments trying to wake people up.

What would be wrong with EDUCATING young families about WHAT is considered as abuse and WARN THEM of the extremely unpleasant consequences of CPS talons in their family.
