NORTH BRANFORD — Police are accusing a 24-year-old woman of assaulting a 12-year-old girl and throwing her to the floor after the girl looked at the woman’s 30-year-old boyfriend.

The 12-year-old and Kiley are not related, and D’Ancicco said it does not appear that the two have a history. But both were at the party because the girl is a friend of Kiley’s younger sister.
The incident began around 7 or 8 p.m. when Kiley’s boyfriend spilled a drink in the kitchen and the young girl needed to get ice from the refrigerator for her own drink, D’Ancicco said. The girl was waiting for the man to clean up the spill before getting her ice when Kiley walked in.
Kiley then allegedly accused the 12-year-old of looking at her boyfriend, grabbed her hair, and threw her to the floor, police said. The girl suffered a head injury and also had an asthma attack.
“She landed flat on her back, hitting the back of head on the floor,” D’Ancicco explained.
The assault continued until family members heard the fighting and intervened, D’Ancicco said.
“Everybody immediately came to the 12-year-old’s aid,” he added.
The girl had a bump on her head as a result of the incident, but the family did not call an ambulance and the police did not send her to the hospital when they arrived, D’Ancicco said. Kiley had also left the party by the time police got there, which is why they had to apply for a warrant. FULL STORY
