Brief Update

I hope you are enjoying your summer, and maybe getting a little “down time” before things crank back up for the fall. Here’s a brief update of how things are going this week in the struggle to preserve your parental rights.

2 More Senators Oppose CRPD

As of August 10, we could only name 11 senators we can count on to oppose ratification of the United Nations’ Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, a human rights treaty that will set a dangerous new standard for government intrusion into families. Since then, we have seen responses from two more whom we would consider strong friends on this issue. We still have a very long way to go to reach the 34 needed to halt ratification, but it is a good start. Thank you for contacting your Senators and sending us their responses!

Protect Your Kids While Supporting Parental Rights

I would also remind you that we are still offering Internet Safety 101 for your donation of $100 or more to ParentalRights.org. This 2-DVD series includes a 236- page workbook and a viewers’ guide, and will teach you so much about the dangers posed to your children by the internet and all the new modern communications technology available.

If you’re like most of us, your kids are more familiar with these devices than you are. Here’s a way to catch up in your ability to understand and protect them, while supporting the cause of parental rights. Click here for more info, or click here to donate* and secure your copy today.

Join the Discussion Online

Yesterday, we spotted a news story out of New York state about a family threatening to sue their local elementary school for including in the music curriculum such songs as “Michael, Row the Boat Ashore,” because the songs reference God. So we posted it to our Facebook fan page with a reference to Parker v. Hurley, the Massachusetts case wherein the judges essentially told the Christian parents who opposed classes on same-sex couples, “If you don’t like the curriculum, pick a different place to educate your kids.” Why not visit us to see where the discussion went from there, and weigh-in with your own opinion as well?

And if you have family or loved ones who follow Facebook more than email, help us keep in touch with them by being sure they find that fan page as well!

Thank you for standing with us to preserve American families.

Sincerely,

Michael Ramey
Director of Communications & Research
