State to recruit up to 500 child welfare workers at Michigan colleges

Lansing — As many as 500 child welfare workers could be recruited across the state over the next two months in a state effort to comply with court-mandated reforms of its child welfare system. The Michigan Department of Human Services is hosting three-day recruitment events at partnering universities on the following dates: Tuesday through Thursday at Northern Michigan University in Marquette.


....The events are open to all applicants who meet the minimum qualifications. That includes holding a bachelor's or master's degree in social work, psychology, family studies, counseling psychology, criminal justice, sociology, family ecology, consumer/community services, family and/or child development, or guidance/school counseling.  FULL STORY
