The Founders knew first-hand that tyranny arises when “absolute power corrupts absolutely,” depriving citizens of essential liberties.
John Hancock, among the most noteworthy signers of the Declaration of Independence, wrote,
“Resistance to tyranny becomes the Christian and social duty of each individual... Continue steadfast and, with a proper sense of your dependence on God, nobly defend those rights which heaven gave, and no man ought to take from us.”
President Barack Obama apparently believes that he knows better that our nation’s Founders and has repeatedly acted on the condescending notion that the Constitution is outdated and/or irrelevant in the modern era. Although sworn to defend the Constitution, many officials in the administration are actively subverting our nation’s founding principles!
Barack Obama’s agenda to “fundamentally transform” America proves that belief, as it renders the constitutional principles of “separation of powers,” of individual freedom and conscience protection as unworthy of being given precedence over the needs of the State.
Even in the past week, the President used yet another “Executive Order” to bypass Congress and advance his election year agenda.
In 2012 one vision of America will win and one will lose. That is why we are calling this year “America’s Year of Decision.”
