Parental Rights: Excitement and Successes Mounting

Excitement and Successes Mounting

As we enter week three of our candidate call blitz, we have 17 new pledge signers through Friday, up from 10 the week before.

One exciting example creates a win-win district in a state where currently no one is on board the Amendment. Despite months of faithful efforts by the Kincell family and other volunteers, West Virginia remains one of only 11 states with no congressman or senator cosponsoring the Parental Rights Amendment. Now, no matter which party wins in West Virginia’s first district, they will have a cosponsor in the new congress, since both candidates – Republican David McKinley and Democrat Mike Oliverio – have pledged to cosponsor in 2011. It’s the kind of can’t-lose situation we’d like to see in every race in the country!

Please take another moment to call your district’s candidates for congress and senate and urge them to sign the Parental Rights Amendment pledge. You can find links to their contact information as well as additional talking points in our earlier email, available online here.
