American Minute with Bill Federer
Dec. 15 - Bill of Rights Day "National government...Frankenstein-like" - Eisenhower
The newly independent 13 States created the national government.

They were concerned that it might grow too powerful, as King George's was, so they put handcuffs it:

The First Ten Amendments
or Bill of Rights, ratified DECEMBER 15, 1791.

Supreme Court Justice Joseph Story explained in Commentaries on the Constitution, 1833:

"The whole power over the subject of religion is left exclusively to the State governments, to be acted upon according to their own sense of justice and the State Constitutions."

Bouvier's Law Dictionary, 1889, stated:

"The Christian religion is, of course, recognized by the government, yet...preservation of religious liberty is left to the States."
President Eisenhower stated at a Governors' Conference, 1957:

"The national government was itself the creature of the States...

Yet today it is often made to appear that the creature, Frankenstein-like, is determined to destroy the creators."
