Make sure you're storm ready.

Preparing isn't a bad thing...  Big storms can knock out power. Make sure you're storm ready.

If a raging winter storm knocks out electricity, Pacific Power is ready to respond. Of course, we also want to make sure you're ready. That's why we offer tips to help you prepare for an outage and keep you safe and warm while we work to restore power as quickly as possible.

Things you can do to prepare
  • Assemble an outage kit with items that will also be useful in other emergency situations.
  • Review what to do if the power goes out in your home.
  • Cordless phones require electricity, so make sure you have another working phone if the power goes out. Click here for tips to preserve your cell phone's battery.
  • Put together a communication plan with your family, loved ones and other important contacts.
  • Know how to override your electric garage door opener.
  • If you own a portable generator, review how to operate it safely.
Add your cell phone numbers to your Pacific Power account through our secure website. This will allow us to quickly pull up your account information when you call, and also provides you access to up-to-the minute updates on your smartphone.
