The Children's Bureau announced a Call for Abstracts for the 19th National Conference on Child Abuse and Neglect, CMS and SAMHSA released a joint informational bulletin about services for children and youth with significant mental health conditions, and a new report outlines the accomplishments of projects funded through the Runaway and Homeless Youth Act.

Spotlight on Child Welfare and Human Trafficking
In 2012, the U.S. Department of State estimated that 27 million men, women, and children around the world were victims of human trafficking. These victims are often from the most vulnerable populations, including children involved with child welfare. CBX looks at the intersection between child welfare and human trafficking, highlighting Federal Government efforts to combat the issue, a training and technical assistance center offering services to professionals who may encounter victims, and a handbook for enhancing the child welfare response to human trafficking.
