Ombudsman hits out at child protection failures

Australia- The Northern Territory Ombudsman, Carolyn Richards, has hit out at the failure of child protection authorities in the NT to actually protect children at risk.

Speaking exclusively on tonight's Four Corners, Ms Richards says 12-year-old girl Deborah Melville, who died in the backyard of her foster carer's home, "died in the most horrific, painful circumstances. So their failure was complete".  FULL STORY
