No. 361 of 365
Confide in a liberal that if you had your way, the federal government would abolish the Department of Homeland Security (another big government boondoggle) and the Department of Defense.
When your liberal friend expresses his surprise, say, "Yeah, I think we should streamline that whole kit-and-caboodle to make it what it used to be: the Department of War."

Founders Quotes
"How prone all human institutions have been to decay; how subject the best-formed and most wisely organized governments have been to lose their check and totally dissolve; how difficult it has been for mankind, in all ages and countries, to preserve their dearest rights and best privileges, impelled as it were by an irresistible fate of despotism." --James Monroe, speech in the Virginia Ratifying Convention, 1788

Liberty Quotes
"Believe nothing merely because you have been told it. Do not believe what your teacher tells you merely out of respect for the teacher. But whatsoever, after due examination and analysis, you find to be kind, conducive to the good, the benefit, the welfare of all beings -- that doctrine believe and cling to, and take it as your guide." -- Buddha [Gautama Siddharta] (563 - 483 BC), Hindu Prince, founder of Buddhism

"Do the people of this land…desire to preserve those [liberties] protected by the First Amendment… If so, let them withstand all beginnings of encroachment. For the saddest epitaph which can be carved in memory of a vanquished liberty is that it was lost because its possessors failed to stretch for a saving hand while yet there was time." -- George Sutherland (1862-1942) U. S. Supreme Court Justice Source: Associated Press v. National Labor Relations Board, 1937

http://quotes.liberty-tree.ca/quote_blog/Louis.Brandeis.Quote.271D
"Laws are made for men of ordinary understanding and should, therefore, be construed by the ordinary rules of common sense. Their meaning is not to be sought for in metaphysical subtleties which may make anything mean everything or nothing at pleasure." -- Thomas Jefferson (1743-1826), US Founding Father, drafted the Declaration of Independence, 3rd US President Source: Thomas Jefferson, letter to William Johnson, 1823.

Liberty Quotes
"If it be admitted that a man, possessing absolute power, may misuse that power by wronging his adversaries, why should a majority not be liable to the same reproach? Men are not apt to change their character by agglomeration; nor does their patience in the presence of obstacles increase with the consciousness of their strength. And for these reasons I can never willingly invest any number of my fellow creatures with that unlimited authority which I should refuse to any one of them." -- Alexis de Tocqueville [Alexis Charles Henri Maurice Clerel, le Comte de Tocqueville] (1805-1859) French historian
http://quotes.liberty-tree.ca/quote_blog/Alexis.de.Tocqueville.Quote.282C
I am sure thinking about the CPS sociopaths right now
Founders Quotes
"And can the liberties of a nation be thought secure when we have removed their only firm basis, a conviction in the minds of the people that these liberties are the gift of God? That they are not to be violated but with his wrath? Indeed I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just: that his justice cannot sleep for ever." --Thomas Jefferson, Notes on the State of Virginia, Query 18, 1781
Liberty Quotes
"Government is a parasite -- a cancer that by nature tries to spread deeper into society. Those who want to run others' lives won't give up and start minding their own business." -- Harry Browne (1933-2006) American libertarian writer, politician, and free-market investment analyst. Libertarian candidate for US President 1996 & 2000 Source: Pamphlet: Harry Browne, Why I’m Running for President. 1995.

"The whole gospel of Karl Marx can be summed up in a single sentence: Hate the man who is better off than you are. Never under any circumstances admit that his success may be due to his own efforts, to the productive contribution he has made to the whole community. Always attribute his success to the exploitation, the cheating, the more or less open robbery of others. Never under any circumstances admit that your own failure may be owing to your own weakness, or that the failure of anyone else may be due to his own defects - his laziness, incompetence, improvidence, or stupidity." -- Henry Hazlitt (1894-1993) American economist, philosopher, literary critic and journalist

Next time a liberal upbraids you
for "maintaining narrow, traditional moral values" remind him that "tradition" is simply the inherited wisdom of our ancestors, which keeps us from making moral fools of ourselves, and anyway, which of these traditional moral values would he flat-out like to do away with: compassion, fidelity, honesty, restraint, deference, courage, chivalry, self-denial... (Actually, all of them, but he won't be able to say that.)

Liberty Quotes
"Mankind is at its best when it is most free. This will be clear if we grasp the principle of liberty. We must recall that the basic principle is freedom of choice, which saying many have on their lips, but few in their mind." -- Dante Alighieri (1265-1320) Italian Poet

"It is precisely this clinging to victimhood as a means of demonstrating one’s virtue and advancing one’s well-being that has led us into a society in which welfare and quotas are “civil rights,” government handouts are “entitlements,” and payment to girls having babies out of wedlock are “compassionate,” while hard-working, ambitious people are “greedy,” punishment of crime is “oppression,” and an independent thinker who stands for courage and self-reliance is dismissed as an “Uncle Tom.”" -- J. Liberty Quotes
Declaration of Orders We Will NOT Obey
Recognizing that we each swore an oath to support and defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic, and affirming that we are guardians of the Republic, of the principles in our Declaration of Independence, and of the rights of our people, we affirm and declare the following:
1. We will NOT obey orders to disarm the American people.
2. We will NOT obey orders to conduct warrantless searches of the American people
3. We will NOT obey orders to detain American citizens as "unlawful enemy combatants" or to subject them to military tribunal.
4. We will NOT obey orders to impose martial law or a “state of emergency” on a state.
5. We will NOT obey orders to invade and subjugate any state that asserts its sovereignty.
6. We will NOT obey any order to blockade American cities, thus turning them into giant concentration camps.
7. We will NOT obey any order to force American citizens into any form of detention camps under any pretext.
8. We will NOT obey orders to assist or support the use of any foreign troops on U.S. soil against the American people to "keep the peace" or to "maintain control."
9. We will NOT obey any orders to confiscate the property of the American people, including food and other essential supplies.
10.We will NOT obey any orders which infringe on the right of the people to free speech, to peaceably assemble, and to petition their government for a redress of grievances.
-- Oath Keepers
Oath Keepers is a non partisan association of currently serving military, peace officers, fire-fighters, and veterans who will fulfill our oath to support and defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic, so help us God.

There are quite a few of us citizens who are wondering how much of a domestic enemy Obama and the Democrats are. The Oath Keepers may be called on before we have another election.
If people are as pissed off as I think they are, the Democrat Party might be done forever. And we are really REALLY pissed with the RINOS too.

American Minute with Bill Federer
December 11
Alexander Solzhenitsyn was born in Russia, DECEMBER 11, 1918.
He was arrested for writing a letter criticizing Joseph Stalin and spent 11 years in prisons and labor camps. He began writing and eventually received the Nobel Prize for Literature.
Solzhenitsyn stated on June 30, 1975, in Washington, D.C.:
"At the height of Stalin's terror in 1937-38...more than 40,000 persons were shot per month...
Over there people are groaning and dying and in psychiatric hospitals. Doctors are making their evening rounds, injecting people with drugs which destroy their brain cells."
Solzhenitsyn continued:
"There is another Russian proverb: 'The yes-man is your enemy, but your friend will argue with you.' It is precisely because I am the friend of the United States...that I have come to tell you...
You know the words from the Bible: 'Build not on sand, but on rock'....
Lenin's teachings are that anyone is considered to be a fool who doesn't take what's lying in front of him. If you can take it, take it. If you can attack, attack. But if there's a wall, then go back.
And the Communist leaders respect only firmness and have contempt and laugh at persons who continually give in to them..."
Solzhenitsyn concluded:
"I would like to call upon America to be more careful with its trust and prevent those...because of short-sightedness and still others out of self-interest, from falsely using the struggle for peace and for social justice to lead you down a false road.
Because they are trying to weaken you; they are trying to disarm your strong and magnificent country in the face of this fearful threat...
I call upon you: ordinary working men of America...do not let yourselves become weak."
Alexander Solzhenitsyn stated:
"If we don't know our own history, we will simply have to endure all the same mistakes, sacrifices, and absurdities all over again."

365 Ways to Drive a Liberal Crazy
Human Events

No. 343 of 365
Liberal myth-busting:
If a liberal ever tries to justify government intrusion using the argumentum reductio ad slaveram — that, after all, it took federal government action (the Emancipation Proclamation) to free the slaves — remind him of what he never learned in school: the Emancipation Proclamation didn't free a single slave; it had no legal standing; and it didn't even extend to areas under Union control. It was a neat, diplomatic-rhetorical dodge to prevent foreign powers from recognizing the South (as it was no longer a war over Southern independence, which was diplomatically justifiable, but presumably a war over slavery, which was not). What ended slavery was two things liberals don't often like — the United States Army and a strict construction of the Constitution, enacting change through an approved constitutional amendment — not through judicial fiat or Obamaland czars or executive orders without true legal standing.

Liberty Quotes
"Unthinking respect for authority is the greatest enemy of truth." -Albert Einstein (1879-1955) Physicist and Professor, Nobel Prize 1921
http://quotes.liberty-tree.ca/quote_blog/Albert.Einstein.Quote.2297
"[M]onopoly profits exist over the long run only when the government guarantees them, as in utilities and cable. And for concentration of market power, no robber baron can hold a candle to the U.S. government.... The hugest concentration of market power in this country does not lie with the likes of Rupert Murdoch or Bill Gates, but with government itself.... No private company, no matter how huge or wealthy, could possibly have as much widespread power over the function of American markets as government does. And this power is exercised with essential unseriousness.... And unlike business attempts to make money, which necessarily involve selling something to a willing consumer, government’s market manipulations require forcing people into situations -- whether paying for cars or food, paying for R&D or new technologies, or selling off a part of their company -- that they would not have wanted to be in but for the government’s ham-handed threat of force.... Nothing could serve the workings of the marketplace better than [government] leaving it." -- Brian Doherty (1968-) American journalist, author, Senior Editor at Reason magazine Source: Monopoly Games, Reason, p 7, Aug./Sept. 1995.
http://quotes.liberty-tree.ca/quote_blog/Brian.Doherty.Quote.4B2A
