"Somebody recently figured out that we have 35 million laws to enforce the ten commandments." -Bert Masterson Source: Attributed to both Bert Masterson and Earl Wilson http://quotes.liberty-tree.ca/quote_blog/Bert.Masterson.Quote.CAE9

"We must create out of the younger generation a generation of Communists. We must turn children, who can be shaped like wax, into real, good Communists. ... We must remove the children from the crude influence of their families. We must take them over and, to speak frankly, nationalize them. From the first days of their lives they will be under the healthy influence of Communist children's nurseries and schools. There they will grow up to be real Communists." -Communist Party Education Workers Congress

American Minute

August 1

"There she blows!" cried the lookout, sighting Moby Dick.

Captain Ahab and his chief mate Starbuck sailed the seas to capture this great white whale.

But as fate would have it, when the harpoon struck, the rope flew out entangling Ahab, pulling him under.

This classic was written by Herman Melville, born AUGUST 1, 1819.

Grandson of a Boston Tea Party Indian, Melville's father died when he was 12.

Raised by a mother who inspired his imagination with biblical stories, Herman Melville shipped out as a cabin boy on a whaling ship and later sailed the South Seas with the Navy.

He fell among Typee cannibals in the Marquesas Islands.

Rescued, he wrote in an account:

"These disclosures will...lead to...ultimate benefit to the cause of Christianity in the Sandwich Islands."

In his classic novel, Moby Dick, Herman Melville wrote:

"With this sin of disobedience...Jonah flouts at God...He thinks that a ship made by men will carry him into countries where God does not reign."

In 1983, The U.S. District Court stated in Crockett v. Sorenson:

"Better known works which rely on allusions from the Bible include Milton's Paradise Lost...Shakespeare...and Melville's Moby Dick...Secular education...demands that the student have a good knowledge of the Bible."

How Big is the U.S. Debt?

As D-day for the U.S. debt ceiling debate quickly approaches, Prof. Antony Davies explains just how big the U.S. debt really is.

As the countdown continues towards August 2, the day that without a debt ceiling raise, the United States will default and government will go into lockdown, Economics professor Antony Davies has released a video which illustrates the size of the U.S. federal government's debt and unfunded obligations.

According to the video, the total debt of unfunded obligations – the total amount of money the federal government has borrowed or has promised to pay other people – is $65 trillion, an amount far greater than the economic output of the entire planet.

Prof. Davies explains that the unfunded social security obligations are, in essence, an amount of money that the federal government has promised to current and future retirees.

Meanwhile, the Republicans and the Democrats continue to argue over the debt ceiling issue: The Republican majority in the House of Representatives is insisting on commensurate spending cuts for any rise in the debt ceiling, while the Obama Administration is insisting on tax hikes as a major contributor to cutting the budget deficits.

Here's some rich dudes to tax the heck out of-

365 Ways to Drive a Liberal Crazy

Human Events

No. 211 of 365

Tutor a liberal's kids in the ways of conservative righteousness —Lesson 2.
Make them watch The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. Liberals disapprove of this film because the Christian allegory is so overt. So that's one good reason to show it to their kids. Explain that the White Witch is probably modeled on Obama's enviro czar Carol Browner and that the world where it's "always winter but never Christmas" is a realistic projection of how the United States will look once global cooling kicks in and no one will be able to afford to heat their homes because of carbon taxes introduced to prevent "global warming."

How Can a 4000% Increase in Bipolar Disorder Be Possible?

Posted By Dr. Mercola | July 30 2011

The number of American children diagnosed with bipolar disorder increased 40-fold over the past decade. But now many psychiatrists are backing away from the diagnosis.

Many are worried that thousands of children may have been mistakenly diagnosed with the disorder. Overzealous doctors, quirks in the health insurance system and aggressive marketing by drug companies all contributed to the explosion of bipolar diagnoses.

According to the Star Tribune:

"The profession's about-face could help the next generation of troubled children, but it also raises questions about the harm done to children who shouldn't have received either the diagnosis or the potent drugs used to treat it."

See Dr Mercola's Comment

Here at American Family Rights Association, we deal with this problem on a continual basis.

I was looking forward to one of Dr. Mercola's EXCELLENT articles on this subject.  He certainly nailed the truth in-

The Child Abuse Laws Which Could Destroy Your Reputation
Legal Child Abduction: How the Government Profits by Stealing Your Children
Posted By Dr. Mercola | February 05 2011

But unfortunately, in THIS article, Dr Mercola steps completely over "The Problem", which is Dr. Benjamin Spock's 1946 book "Baby and Child Care".

I sincerely believe that what we're seeing in many of these "troublesome" children are the effects of inappropriate or deficient DISCIPLINE.  We are now into Generation 4 of kids raised under the "New, Kinder, Gentler" world theory of child rearing popularized by Dr Benjamin Spock.  Which is now STRICTLY and BRUTALLY ENFORCED by the Communists (or Fascists- you choose) known as Children's Protective Services.

Tragic: Annabelle Lee Morris hanged herself when she found out that her son (face blanked) had been adopted
A tragic teenage mother's body was found hanged days after she discovered her baby had been adopted by another family.

Annabelle Lee Morris, 19, could not cope with her son being taken into care and then put up for adoption.

Her father, Thomas James Morris, found her in her bedroom on March 18 last year - nine days after she found out that her son had new adoptive parents, York Coroner's Court was told.

The authorities had intervened as she was struggling to look after him herself.

Speaking after the inquest, her cousin, Lorna Dawber, said: 'She adored her son and had she accepted the help when it was there her future would have been completely different. In time she would have got there.

'That was the one thing in life that was hers, she absolutely worshipped him.'

She said Annabelle would not have put her family through that deliberately.

'She was a good soul and she had a good heart,' she said.

The inquest heard that the child was taken into foster care when he was less than a year old.
Annabelle, from York, was still allowed to see him a few times a week, but when a psychologist raised further serious concerns, steps were taken to have the baby adopted.

Although it was arranged for Annabelle to meet mental health workers in 2009, she did not attend an appointment.

She saw her son, then 15 months old, for the final time in January 2010. At the time of her death she was on a doctor's waiting list to see a counsellor.

Prior to the adoption, her social worker, John Corden, said Annabelle was 'ambivalent' about accepting the support offered to her as this would involve 'putting boundaries around her lifestyle'.

But he said that he and other colleagues had been impressed by the 'high quality of interaction' between mother and child and that she had been 'dignified and honest' in her work with social services.

Mr Corden said 'I had frequent discussions with Annabelle about the way the case was going. She never suggested to me that if adoption were the outcome she would harm herself.

'Annabelle was blessed with a warm and benign personality. She could present herself as a well functioning and capable young lady.

'In the fullness of time, that may have been a considerable asset to her.'

Coroner Donald Coverdale recorded an open verdict and said the cause of her death was asphyxia due to hanging.

Noting that she had strong support from a loving family and from social services, he said: 'Miss Morris was a 19-year-old with a number of problems relating back to childhood.

'In recent times she had gone through the trauma of having her child adopted.

'The final meeting with her child had been in January and that time must have been the most difficult of all.

'It seems to me that she had time to reflect on the unhappy course of events culminating in the adoption. My best guess is that what has happened was an impulsive act, it could be described as a cry for help.'

There are fewer undocumented immigrants in California – and the Sacramento region – because many are now finding the American dream south of the border.

"It's now easier to buy homes on credit, find a job and access higher education in Mexico," Sacramento's Mexican consul general, Carlos González Gutiérrez, said Wednesday. "We have become a middle-class country."

Mexico's unemployment rate is now 4.9 percent, compared with 9.4 percent joblessness in the United States.

CPS Theme Song

For the love of money- O' jays

Lyrics:Money money money money, money (x6)
Some people got to have it
Some people really need it
Listen to me y'all, do things, do things, do bad things with it
You wanna do things, do things, do things, good things with it
Talk about cash money, money
Talk about cash money- dollar bills, yall

For the love of money
People will steal from their mother
For the love of money
People will rob their own brother
For the love of money
People can't even walk the street
Because they never know who in the world they're gonna beat
For that lean, mean, mean green
Almighty dollar, money

For the love of money
People will lie, Lord, they will cheat
For the love of money
People don't care who they hurt or beat
For the love of money
A woman will sell her precious body
For a small piece of paper it carries a lot of weight
Call it lean, mean, mean green

Almighty dollar

I know money is the root of all evil
Do funny things to some people
Give me a nickel, brother can you spare a dime
Money can drive some people out of their minds

Got to have it, I really need it
How many things have I heard you say
Some people really need it
How many things have I heard you say
Got to have it, I really need it
How many things have I heard you say
Lay down, lay down, a woman will lay down
For the love of money
All for the love of money
Don't let, don't let, don't let money rule you
For the love of money
Money can change people sometimes
Don't let, don't let, don't let money fool you
Money can fool people sometimes
People! Don't let money, don't let money change you,
it will keep on changing, changing up your mind.

American Minute

July 29

Alexis de Tocqueville was born JULY 29, 1805.

A French social scientist, he traveled the United States in 1831, and wrote a two-part work, Democracy in America (1835, 1840), which has been described as:

"the most comprehensive and penetrating analysis of the relationship between character and society in America that has ever been written."

In it, de Tocqueville wrote:

"Upon my arrival in the United States the religious aspect of the country was the first thing that struck my attention; and the longer I stayed there, the more I perceived the great political consequences resulting from this new state of things, to which I was unaccustomed.

In France I had almost always seen the spirit of religion and the spirit of freedom marching in opposite directions. But in America I found they were intimately united and that they reigned in common over the same country..."

De Tocqueville continued:

"They brought with them...a form of Christianity, which I cannot better describe, than by styling it a democratic and republican religion...From the earliest settlement of the emigrants, politics and religion contracted an alliance which has never been dissolved."

De Tocqueville wrote:

"Religion in America...must be regarded as the foremost of the political institutions of that country; for if it does not impart a taste for freedom, it facilitates the use of it...This opinion is not peculiar to a class of citizens or a party, but it belongs to the whole nation."

De Tocqueville observed:

"The sects that exist in the United States are innumerable. They all differ in respect to the worship which is due to the Creator; but they all agree in respect to the duties which are due from man to man. Each sect adores the Deity in its own peculiar manner, but all sects preach the same moral law in the name of God...

Moreover, all the sects of the United States are comprised within the great unity of Christianity, and Christian morality is everywhere the same."

De Tocqueville added:

"In the United States the sovereign authority is religious...There is no country in the whole world where the Christian religion retains a greater influence than in America...

America is still the place where the Christian religion has kept the greatest real power over men's souls; and nothing better demonstrates how useful and natural it is to man, since the country where it now has the widest sway is both the most enlightened and the freest."

De Tocqueville continued:

"In the United States the influence of religion is not confined to the manners, but it extends to the intelligence of the people...Christianity, therefore reigns without obstacle, by universal consent..."

De Tocqueville continued:

"The Americans combine the notions of Christianity and of liberty so intimately in their minds, that it is impossible to make them conceive the one without the other; and with them this conviction does not spring from that barren traditionary faith which seems to vegetate in the soul rather than to live."

In Book Two of Democracy in America, de Tocqueville wrote:

"Christianity has therefore retained a strong hold on the public mind in America...In the United States...Christianity itself is a fact so irresistibly established, that no one undertakes either to attack or to defend it."

In August of 1831, while traveling through Chester County, New York, Alexis de Tocqueville observed a court case:

"While I was in America, a witness, who happened to be called at the assizes of the county of Chester, declared that he did not believe in the existence of God or in the immortality of the soul. The judge refused to admit his evidence, on the ground that the witness had destroyed beforehand all confidence of the court in what he was about to say...

The New York Spectator of August 23d, 1831, relates the fact in the following terms:

'The court of common pleas of Chester county (New York), a few days since rejected a witness who declared his disbelief in the existence of God. The presiding judge remarked, that he had not before been aware that there was a man living who did not believe in the existence of God; that this belief constituted the sanction of all testimony in a court of justice: and that he knew of no case in a Christian country, where a witness had been permitted to testify without such belief.'"

Excess of Jurisdiction

Excess of Jurisdiction

Excess of Jurisdiction is a court's acting beyond the limits of its power, usually. in one of three ways:
(1) when the court has no power to deal with the kind of matter at issue,
(2) when the court has no power to deal with the particular person concerned, or
(3) when the judgment or order issued is of a kind that the court has no power to issue.

2. A court's departure from recognized and established requirements of law, despite apparent adherence to procedural form, the effect of which is a deprivation of one's constitutional right. It is also termed excess jurisdiction.

Woman allegedly pulls baby from stroller, slams him against truck
July 27, 2011 | 11:24 am

A 36-year-old woman allegedly snatched an infant from his stroller and slammed him into the metal railing of a truck as his mother and aunt tried to fight her off, police said Wednesday.

The woman, Natasha Hubbard, later told police she wanted to eat the baby's arm. The baby suffered only minor injuries.

Adriana Miranda, 29, was pushing her 4-month-old son in a stroller on Boyd Street on Thursday when Hubbard allegedly reached into the stroller, unbelted the infant and swung him overhead, police said.

She then slammed him into the metal rail of a nearby truck.

Police said the mother and her sister tried to fight the woman off.

Miranda was eventually able to grab her baby, but Hubbard allegedly kept trying to fight, scratching at her while Miranda held the baby in her arms.

Police said the mother and aunt ran into a nearby store for help as Hubbard ran away, but the store owner pushed them back out onto the street.

Officers were able to find Hubbard after witnesses pointed her out.

She was charged with aggravated assault and bail was set at $30,000. She is on probation in two separate cases, one for narcotics and another for battery. Her prior arrests also include aggravated assault and carrying dangerous weapons.

Lt. Paul Vernon of the Los Angeles Police Department said Hubbard told detectives at the police station that she tried to break off the baby’s arm so she could eat it.

The baby was treated for minor bruises and scratches.

“We’re so lucky Alexander was not more injured than the bruises and swelling he received,” Vernon said.

“He’s a tough little boy, and his mom and aunt didn’t hesitate to protect him.”

I left a nice comment there (lots of commenters were PISSED about the store owner)-

Not much different than how a CPS worker operates. And the store owner is not much different than the Dumb Masses who think CPS is a great thing.

If you think this store owner did wrong, remember him next time you read a story about a child, beat, tortured, raped, or killed in custody of the sociopathic CPS, if you yawn and move on.

Mother charged with unlawfully entering school bus to help a son she thought was ill

Perry County mother charged with unlawfully entering school bus to help a son she thought was ill

If Tara Keener had known that her 5-year-old son was only sleeping, she might not have acted this way.

But Keener, an emergency room nurse, didn’t know. All she knew was what she could see through the windows of a big yellow school bus as she walked down her Perry County driveway. Other kids were standing over the kindergartner’s assigned seat, yelling that Xander was slumped over.

“Help, he’s not moving,” she recalled during a recent court hearing. “We can’t wake him up.”

So she ran to the bus, up the steps and to the landing. The driver told her she couldn’t get on the bus. It’s against the law.

Keener kept going. “My focus was on my son,” she told a judge.

What happened on that bus Dec. 15 has earned Keener a misdemeanor charge of unlawfully entering a school bus. She’s now awaiting trial in Perry County Court. FULL STORY

I left a nice comment there-

So now you give up all Parental Rights when your child gets on the School Bus? And apparently you surrender your professional training to react in emergency situations too.

"Parents give up their rights when they drop the children off at public school." --Federal District Judge Melinda Harmon

Judge Harmon made that ruling against the parents after the parents sued a Texas school district. Their son had been questioned at school without their knowledge, and strip searched by a female Texas Children's Protective Services worker looking for signs of paddling the boy's parents had allegedly administered. -Wall St. Journal 10/8/96

It really makes you wonder how much worse it has to get before people realize how badly families are being treated by the system now.

We highly recommend people go to ParentalRights.org (http://parentalrights.org) and support the Parental Rights Amendment. Also recommend to your Senator to support SR99.

Liberty Quotes

"Both Oligarch and Tyrant mistrust the people, and therefore deprive them of arms." -Aristotle (384-322 BC) Greek philosopher
http://quotes.liberty-tree.ca/quote_blog/Aristotle.Quote.D2E5

"What then, is he protected in the right to keep and thus use? Not every thing that may be useful for offense or defense, but what may properly be included or understood under the title of “arms,” taken in connection with the fact that the citizen is to keep them, as a citizen. Such, then as are found to make up the usual arms of the citizen of the country, and the use of which will properly train and render him efficient in defense of his own liberties, as well as of the State. Under this head, with a knowledge of the habits of our people, and of the arms in the use of which a soldier should be trained, we hold that the rifle, of all descriptions, the shot gun, the musket and repeater, are such arms, and that, under the Constitution, the right to keep such arms cannot be infringed or forbidden by the legislature." -Arkansas Supreme Court Source: Fife v. "[It is] a natural Right which the people have reserved to themselves, confirmed by the [English] Bill of rights, to keep arms for their own defense; and as Mr. Blackstone observes, it is to be made use of when the sanctions of Society and law are found insufficient to restrain the violence of oppression." -Boston Evening Post Source: A Journal of the Times, March 27, 1769, printed May 25, 1769.

American Minute

July 28

The 14th Amendment was adopted JULY 28, 1868, because southern States, though forced to end slavery by the 13th Amendment, did not grant citizenship to freed slaves.

Southern Democrat Legislatures passed Black Codes and Jim Crow Laws, requiring freed slaves to be "apprenticed" to "employers" and punished any who left.

Illinois Republican Congressman John Farnsworth said March 31, 1871:

"The reason for the adoption [of the 14th Amendment]...was because of...discriminating...legislation of those States...by which they were punishing one class of men under different laws from another class."

Republican John Bingham of Ohio, who introduced the 14th Amendment, said:

"I repel the suggestion...that the Amendment will...take away from any State any right that belongs to it."

Yet after the Amendment was ratified, activist Federal Judges, applying evolution to the legal process, did just that, as Thomas Jefferson had forewarned Charles Hammond in 1821:

"The germ of dissolution of our...government is in...the federal judiciary...working like gravity by night and by day, gaining a little today and a little tomorrow...until all shall be usurped from the States."

The 14th Amendment soon became a door by which Federal Courts took authority over trade disputes, union strikes, and eventually religion, away from States' jurisdiction.

In his Commentaries on the Constitution, 1833, Justice Joseph Story explained the pre-14th Amendment view of "separation of church and state" was to limit the Federal Government:

"In some of the States, Episcopalians constituted the predominant sect; in other, Presbyterians; in others, Congregationalists; in others, Quakers...

The whole power over the subject of religion is left exclusively to the State governments, to be acted upon according to their own sense of justice and the State constitutions."

When North Carolina was considering ratifying the U.S. Convention, Governor Samuel Johnston argued, July 30, 1788:

"The people of Massachusetts and Connecticut are mostly Presbyterians...In Rhode Island, the tenets of the Baptists, I believe, prevail. In New York, they are divided very much; the most numerous are the Episcopalians and the Baptists. In New Jersey, they are as much divided as we are. In Pennsylvania, if any sect prevails more than others, it is that of the Quakers. In Maryland, the Episcopalians are most numerous, though there are other sects. In Virginia, there are many sects...

I hope, therefore, that gentlemen will see there is no cause of fear that any one religion shall be exclusively established."

John Bouvier’s Law Dictionary (Philadelphia, J.B. Lippincott Company, 1889) stated in its definition of "Religion":

"The Christian religion is, of course, recognized by the government, yet...the preservation of religious liberty is left to the States."

On March 4, 1805, in his Second Inaugural Address, President Thomas Jefferson stated:

"In matters of religion I have considered that its free exercise is placed by the Constitution independent of the powers of the General Government.

I have therefore undertaken, on no occasion, to prescribe the religious exercise suited to it; but have left them, as the Constitution found them, under the direction and discipline of state and church authorities by the several religious societies."

On January 23, 1808, Jefferson wrote to Samuel Miller:

"I consider the government of the United States as interdicted by the Constitution from intermeddling with religious institutions, their doctrines, discipline, or exercises.

This results not only from the provision that no law shall be made respecting the establishment or free exercise of religion, but from that also which reserves to the states the powers not delegated to the United States [10th Amendment].

Certainly no power to prescribe any religious exercise, or to assume authority in religious discipline, has been delegated to the General government. It must then rest with the States as far as it can be in any human authority...

I do not believe it is for the interest of religion to invite the civil magistrate to direct its exercises, its discipline, or its doctrines...

Every religious society has a right to determine for itself the times for these exercises, and the objects proper for them, according to their own particular tenets."

Justice Joseph Story continued in his Commentaries:

"Probably at the time of the adoption of the Constitution...the universal sentiment in America was, that Christianity ought to receive encouragement from the state so far as was not incompatible with the private rights of conscience and the freedom of religious worship.

Any attempt to level all religions, and make it a matter of state policy to hold all in utter indifference, would have created universal disapprobation, in not universal indignation."

In Congress, psychiatrist pushes for foster health care

By DAVID FREED CHCF Center for Health Reporting | Posted: Tuesday, July 26, 2011 5:30 pm
North County Times, SanDiego

In 2008, Congress passed legislation broadly hailed as the most sweeping reform of federal child welfare policy in a decade. The bill, sponsored by Rep. Jim McDermott, D-Wash., mandated among other elements that each state develop a plan for "the ongoing oversight and coordination of health care services for any child in a foster care placement."

Now, more than two years after then-President George W. Bush enacted McDermott's "Fostering Connections to Success and Increasing Adoptions Act," the congressman concedes that there have been few measurable improvements in health care delivery for foster youth, lost amid the nation's stubbornly weak economy.

"We're in a terrible spot for these kids," he said. "They always get clobbered in these situations. We're living in a country where the common good has been lost, and nobody believes they should look after their brother or their sister. We are simply not getting it done."

Two weeks after McDermott's bill passed with overwhelming bipartisan support, the "roof fell in" on Wall Street, as he puts it, heralding America's worst financial crisis since the Great Depression.

...."We say we care about children," McDermott said, "but I wouldn't bet my lunch money on it."

MARIETTA, GA (CBS ATLANTA) - A woman whose 4-year-old son was struck by a van and killed while the family was attempting to cross a busy Cobb County street was sentenced to 12 months probation.

Raquel Nelson was sentenced in Cobb County Superior Court on Tuesday on a vehicular homicide charge, but was also given the opportunity to request a new trial instead.

An attorney for Nelson, 30, said she and her children were crossing a street last April after getting off a bus in the city of Austell, three-tenths of a mile from a crosswalk. The attorney says Nelson's daughter and son bolted from a median as a van approached.

All three were struck by a van, slightly injuring Nelson and her daughter but killing her son, AJ Newman.

The driver, Jerry Guy, pleaded guilty to hit-and-run and served a six-month sentence.

Guy previously spent time in jail nine times, mostly on traffic charges. In the late 90s he was sentenced to two years in prison for two hit-and-run accidents, neither of which were fatal.

Nelson said she would not decide today whether she'd ask for a new trial.

The Solicitor General's office also wouldn't say if it would prosecute the new case, should Nelson decide to ask for the trial.
