Celebrate Freedom - and Preserve It!
 
My colleagues and I would like to wish you a safe and happy Independence Day. Tomorrow we celebrate our freedom by commemorating the 236th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

In honor of the Fourth, Congress has taken the week off, so there is no need for you to call them again before Monday.

But while you celebrate freedom tomorrow with your friends and family, I would ask you also to preserve it.

How? By telling those who haven’t already heard about the Parental Rights Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

To pass the PRA, we have to make it known to everyone. Discussing it with family and friends as you think about American freedoms is a great way to do that.

In case you’d like a few resources to help you, here are some suggestions:

  • Show them OverruledMovie.com. If the 35-minute version is too long, there is a link at the bottom of the page to a great 7-minute summary.
  • Show them ParentalRights.org. If there are pages on our site that speak to you, odds are they will speak to them as well. (Any emails we have sent, for instance, can be found in our email archives online.)
  • Or share with them your favorite flier from parentalrights.org/documents.
Remember, freedom is not free. In the words of President Reagan, “It must be fought for, protected, and handed down to [our children] for them to do the same, or one day we will spend our sunset years telling our children and our children’s children what it was once like in the United States when men were free.”

One simple conversation with family tomorrow could go a long way to preventing those difficult conversations with our children just a few years from now.

Thank you for standing with us this Independence Day and always as we strive to protect our families by passing the Parental Rights Amendment.
