The Equal Justice Foundation is working in cooperation with Dr. Karin Huffer and her Equal Access Advocates organization to train and provide advocates for the disabled, including veterans, in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act and Amendments (ADAA). Our efforts are reviewed in the video at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zqdpF4fWO0E.

No disabled veteran or civilian should go to court without an ADA advocate to help them. ADA advocates are essential for anyone with PTSD, TBI, or other injuries that impair their ability to defend themselves in an adversarial system such as a courtroom, or when seeking other public or private services. An ADA advocate can be a bulwark against injustice.

It is also of interest to note that prosecutors and judges who fail to provide reasonable accommodations when requested and as spelled out in the ADAA lose their immunity. But don't think for a moment that the bureaucrat who calls themself an ADA advocate in your local court will lift a finger on your behalf. What you must have for your defense is an advocate who will stand up to tyrannical prosecutors and judges and defend your rights, demand the accommodations you are entitled to, speak, and advocate for you when injuries make it impossible for litigants to defend themselves.

As Dr. Huffer points out, if you don't have PTSD when you initially go to court you are very likely to develop it as a result of what she terms the Legal Abuse Syndrome (LAS). And the Equal Justice Foundation has seen the effects of LAS in numerous cases. Don't let yours be one of them!

Anyone interested in becoming an ADA advocate for veterans and other disabled individuals should consider signing up for one of Dr. Huffer's webinars. The next one begins October 3, 2012, and this is one way you can stand up against tyranny!
