MIAMI (WSVN) -- Police are searching for a mother and her five children after she allegedly punched a case worker from the Department of Children and Families.

According to police, they are searching for 24-year-old Canema Atkins who took her five children after she struck the DCF worker. Police said, 2-year-old twins Brooklyn and Katlyn, 4-year-old Sinyah, 3-year-old Tremari and a newborn are missing.

Police said the DCF worker went to a home along Northwest Sixth Street, where Atkins had been staying, on April 8 with specific orders: "To remove five children that she believes needs to be removed from the mother's custody," said Miami-Dade Police Department spokesperson Kenia Reyes.

Police said Atkins lunged at the DCF worker, punched her in the face and stomped on her eyeglasses. She then grabbed her five children and took off. "The mother immediately grabs all five children and she goes towards the door and flees in an unknown direction," said Reyes.

DCF said their worker will be OK. "A child protective investigator is doing well. She was sucker punched," said DCF spokesperson Lissette Valdes-Valle.

Atkins' aunt said the case worker grabbed Atkins first and she reacted. "She grabbed her, and however she grabbed her, I guess, that person just snaps, and that's what happened," said Shanquan Harris.

Police said they consider Atkins a dangerous subject. "We're calling her dangerous because she punched a DCF worker in front of her children, and now she's running with them," said Reyes. FULL STORY

I left a nice comment there- (pending moderator approval)

I do not see the words "Obtained a Court Order". The CPS agent went there to "remove 5 children" with NO authority.

Has everybody forgotten the Rylia Wilson case? A phony CPS agent kidnapped Rylia. If this had been a fake CPS agent, this mother would be a HERO, not the villain.

Has everybody forgotten all the TERRIBLE things that has happened to kids while IN STATE CUSTODY?

You can be quite sure this anonymous CPS agent did not conduct herself gracefully. They don't and they don't have to because they are accountable to NO ONE.

I have no sympathy for a 24 year-old single mother, (nary a "baby daddy" in sight) but I have even less sympathy for a CPS agent.

The CPS people are no different than the Nazi SS.
