NYS top judge asks for Youth Court Act - Wants teens in Family Court

In his State of the Judiciary speech on February 14, 2012, New York State's Top Judge, Jonathan Lippman, announced a proposed “Youth Court Act” asking the state legislature to set up a new Youth Court to deal with as many as 50,000 cases a year of non-violent offenses committed by 16- and 17-year-olds who are currently tried as adults in criminal court. FULL STORY
